For me it's probably World of Warcraft. I spent over 65 days (1560+ hours) trying to beat it. Then I remembered that you can't beat MMOs. (I kid of course, I knew this going in.)
Gran Turismo 2. I just played that game for prolly 400 hours if not more! I was addicted to that game one summer when I was a kid. Well when did it come out? 2000? So when I was in my teens!
World of Warcraft without a doubt! We're talkin, months of non stop playing to finish all quests per character, and even then, Its hard a frustrating. I think it took me about 1 and a half years to complete my first character (hitting lvl 70 and completing all quests). Yes, that sounds like a while for most, but I don't get to play as much as a lot of other people. And with the new expansion coming out and all, its gonna be crazy.
not counting mmos cause they can never end, imo i dont really like mmos, i bought wow and i quit before 2 weeks were over. it was ruining my grades and my time and i didnt have too much fun with it. although i was pretty excited about it before i bought it.
I don't think you can count extras or side-quests in the determination of actual game length. If we're simply talking about the games that take the longest to go through and beat - excluding extra stuff - than I guess it's probably Saga Frontier for me. You can complete one particular storyline for a character and say you "beat" it, but you only BEAT it if you finished each story for the seven characters. And that took like 100 hours. Dragon Quest VIII is definitely up there, too; I imagine it would probably take 60 hours just to go through and finish it.
The longest game should be 'THE LONGEST JOURNEY'. It take 40+ hours to finish the game. I think the name says it all... :Dshafrox
It wasn't that long. Some of the earlier puzzles took a while to work out - like the duck-clamp one (but that was mainly because it required a bit of pixel hunting just to find that ring) - but the game got easier as it went along. All up, I don't think that it was more than around 20-25 hours long.
Back on topic - I've played Guild Wars the longest (almost 1000 hours:oops: ).
If it's time spent altogether on a game then mine would have to be Ocarina of Time, I spent so many months on that and I'm still going! Pokemon comes a close second though.
