SNES because of how much I was into gaming at that time and the types of games I enjoyed playing at that time. Given my gaming interests now it would probably have been PS2 for its awesome game library and the variety of games available on that platform. But while I had a PS2 I was finishing high school and completing college, and was not playing as many games as I did before or after that time.
If I had to choose just one I would say the SNES is my favorite. My other two are Sega CD and PS1. My first system was an Atari 2600, well when my brother let me play it. I was around 6 and had a habit of breaking everything I came into contact with...lol

Yeah, thats what I would do when I was around that age. Glass + Me = Shattered glass everywhere. Nearlly killed my Mum!
I would say DreamCast due to all the arcade ports but I see to many people saying DC so... I will stick with the N64, the N64 had all the games that appealed to me.
Hard choice since I owned basically all major consoles from NES up. Have very fond memories from Snes and Genesis era though. Would have to go with Snes.
Hard to pick between N64 (which had a small number of absolute classics) and the Mega Drive (Genesis). I'd probably pick N64 for all the classic 4 player games it had on it.
SNES. It is the perfection of 2D gaming. Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, LoZ Link to the Past, Super Metroid, SimCity, Wolfenstein 3D, Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat. All the awesome beat-em ups: Maximum Carnage, Seperation Anxiety, Final Fight, X-Men, Death of Superman. and the explosions of RPGs began on the SNES with the Final Fantasies, Breath of Fire, Secret of Mana, Crono Trigger, etc. Great stuff, and great memories.
Well my favorite is before 2000 alright, in fact, before 1990. The NES, I love everything about it. .. except the pink flashing screen, but since I cleaned it, it doesn't seem to do that anymore :) My second favorite is the SNES.
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System. amazing games. EarthBound, Final Fantasy III (VI in JP) Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3, Secret of Mana, Super Metroid, Zelda link to the past, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and plenty more. I have so many I love I can't count them all.
I think these type of threads are wicked. I have such a hard time deciding, I would say my Turbo Grafx 16 and then my Neo Geo CD, from there things just fall apart. I have been having a ball with my N64 recently, Ridge Racer stays in it ready to play. I've had my Lynx, Game Boy Pocket, and SNES out gaming lately. Presently I have been spending time with my newly purchased PSP 1000. Totally blown away by Ridge Racer on it. Honorable mentions go toward Sega Saturn, Genesis, and Dreamcast.
I wasnt born until three years after its release, but i have played enough of its best games in remake or rerelease form to say that the Super Nintendo is my favorite, with the N64a close second.
