What is your favourite PS2 RPG ?

Kingdom Hearts is my favorite followed by Final Fantasy X.

I'm really pleased to see all the love for MegaTen in this thread. I'd have to second the recommendations for those games and the Shadow Hearts series especially, although Shadow Hearts 3 was kind of a dropoff. Aside from those Tales of the Abyss is a really cool game that I don't believe has been mentioned.

I do disagree with your statement that the 360 doesn't have RPGs tho. Pretty sure it has more then any other system this gen.

Quanitity wise, the 360 has more, but in terms of quality I would say that it is equal to PS3.

Blue dragon, Infinite Undiscovery, and the Last Remnant are not that good. Lost Odyssey was ok. PS3 has Valkyria Chronicles, Demon's Souls, and Tales of Graces F. It also has crappy RPG's like Last Rebellion, Cross Edge, and Hyper Dimension Neptunia. The 360 has Tales of Vesperia, Fable, and Mass Effect.

BTW, for other people's clarification: there are 4 games in the series, the first of which was only released in Japan. So...

(Japan) King's Field 1 = Not released (US)

(Japan) King's Field 2 = King's Field 1 (US)

(Japan) King's Field 3 = King's Field 2 (US)

(Japan) King's Field: The Ancient City = King's Field: The Ancient City (US)

IMO, King's Field 2 (3 in Japan) is the best in the series, though The Ancient City is a good place to start for people who have a low tolerance for crap graphics to give it a try.

For me, it's a tie between Persona 3 and Persona 4.

What I recommend to you is to try Growlanser Generations. Usually when I bring this RPG up, most people have never heard of it. It is a great game.

Not my all-time favorite RPG for PS2; but I have to say it's a LOT better than most of the turn-based RPGs people are naming and pretty high up on the list, IMO.

I own Growlanser Generations and was only able to play through the first mission (I like it but I don't think my PS3 likes because it freezes at the same spot). I did some thorough research on Growlanser Generations and I love everything about it (might have to buy a PS2 just to play it though)

I also agree that Persona 3 is an awesome game (just one more floor!) and I wish I didn't get rid of it:(

Persona 4 is easily my favorite.

For me it´s a tie between Persona 3 and Digital Devil Saga 2.

I have to show some love for Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (PS2). Greatgraphics, great music, characters, enemies, and story.Plus it had a demo of Final Fantasy XII?! O U T S T A N D I N G!:)

It's pretty hard choice.Now i am playing Nocturne and i am in love with the hardcore style of this game , but maybe my two favorites are Dragon Quest VIII and Final Fantasy XII.
