For me it was repetitive and not much of a challenge.
But mostly, I hate it because of the community. I DON'T want to play and hear 11-13 year old play that they are not supposed to. Not to mention they think playing CoD makes them look cool.
When people thought that CoD CoD CoDCoD CoD CoDCoD CoD CoDCoD CoD CoDCoD CoD CoDCoD CoD CoD made them a gamer. A cod is a fish.
Killstreaks and lag, and also modders.
Battlefield all the way. Hell, I'd play Team Fortress and Counter Strike over CoD.

I'm with this guy. I prefer Call of Duty to Battlefield and your exclusionary rules can't command me to state my opinion here. The mess of a multiplayer experience offered by BC 1&2 saw to my future FPS online shooter to be MW3 and any other Call of Duty. Good Day Sir
COD is one of the best series's in the gaming world today, the reason a heap of people hate it, is because it is too popular, if COD was one of those "under the radar" games players would praise this game, but as always, when a game becomes incredibly popular, it gains a lot more hate, the next game in the series expected to be the best game of the year like the rest of them, COD became the "Best selling FPS game of all time" for a reason, I've hate BF ever since it came out, oh i'm gonna get so much hate for this ;/JustisZone
Since when does popularity equal quality? Tell me, since eg justin bieber is being devoured by the masses, does that make him a skillful artist? Please....
I've stopped playing COD after having played COD4 for some time and also played Blops for a short period. Feels a bit hollow to me, run around hoping to get kills.. run around... run around... oh wait run around. Basically all MP shooters are like this sure, that's why I like teambased games like BF en Team fortress more. Adds a little bit more variety.

Fine, you can like Call of Duty, but I would like to hear more about this mess of a multiplayer experience you found in Battlefield... Ever since 2002 Battlefield has had exceedingly smooth multiplayer experiences.[QUOTE="Sloan360"][QUOTE="Chris_Williams"] thats the beauty of gamespot, i can comment on any thread i please, thank yourealguitarhero5

Fine, you can like Call of Duty, but I would like to hear more about this mess of a multiplayer experience you found in Battlefield... Ever since 2002 Battlefield has had exceedingly smooth multiplayer experiences.I'm talking just about the Bad Company series, not the Battlefield series as a whole, since this is the Battlefield series I have played in comparison to Call of Duty. Just to me Bad Company is horribly unbalanced, especially to new players. My friend and I have recently picked up BC2 because we were tired of Black Ops, but have gotten stomped on every single occasion simply because we aren't high enough levels.
In a system where guns have obvious differences, that make them better than the lower level weapons, being a new player to BC2 is just painful. When players who simply hit level 14 get the ability to take more damage (Body Armor), and at 15 the ability to deal more damage, new players are just being brutalized because they didn't pick it up and play it earlier with everyone else.
I genuinelylike the multi-player, but it's just painful to keep playing when balance issues make the overall experience hard to get enjoyment out of it. I like to play the medic role, and because I don't want to pay 15$ for weapon and gadget unlocks, I have to unlock the ability to become a medic (the ability to throw health and defib players). Engineer is always fun, but vehicles (tanks and choppers) are hard to take out and having to grind to good rocket launchers and AT mines make the class useless for new players. Only the Recon and Assault classes feel good to play from the start, but atill are held back because of the level 14 and 15 specializations.
I'm only forming my opinion off of being a new player to the BC2 multi-player aspect, but this is the most important part of the multi-player experience from my perspecitive. I would assume since it's so hard to start out that the game becomes more and more fun as time progresses, but to be quite honest I don't want to keep grinding out loss after loss to get to the higher levels to get to the "fun" it has to offer. On a side note I will say Battlefield 1943 was just a blast to play, to show I'm not just full of spite.
i guess certain people dont understand when i ask nicely to not post here if they still like cod, so stop posting if you do like it, thank you

This is a public forum, people can post as they please as long as they're within the bounds of the ToU. If you disagree with that, then simply don't read their replies.
OT: I enjoyed the earlier CoDs, but it seems each new one always tries to outdo its predecessor by throwing these massive set pieces at you over and over and over. Admittedly I enjoy games like ARMA that tend more towards realism, though I also enjoy a good blend of arcade/realistic gameplay as well. But CoD has devolved into cheap hollywood whiz bang segments one after the other on and on. When everything is trying to be extraordinary, nothing ends up being extraordinary.
I was pissed not because of the price but the fact that it wasn't worth $15 and they knew it but still knew they would make money with it at that price. Hell, it would have sold at a $30 price point.Map Packs? 15$ each!?
Thats why!
