It was my mom's idea to buy my first game console, the Super Nintendo, back in 1996 or so. Ironically, she's now the only member of my immediate family who feels that video games are a waste of money. :P

If we're including home computers then it was a C64 for me, complete with the Hollywood/TV Quiz pack which included such wonders as Platoon, Bullseye, Blockbusters and The Great Escape.

If we're only talking consoles, then it'd be the NES, which I managed to buy around two months before the SNES came out. Whoops.

[QUOTE="fspriggs"]

Mine was the Atari 2600 closely followed by an Apple IIe computer. I remember being so jealous of people who had a color monitor for the Apple IIc...pretty sad eh?

Let's hear what your first console or platform was!!

Talldude80

LOL. i was reading and thought "ME TOO!" I remember my first console was the 2600 (like 1984 or something), and we had an apple II with the green/black screen. Those were the good ol days......

Glad to hear someone else started with some of the same "high tech" equipment as me! I fondly remember playing Oregon Trail for hours on the computer.

Our second computer was the Commadore Vic20...hooked it up right to the TV and could run programs off what appeared to be audio tapes!
