We all have one. Mine is apparently Majesty 2. What about the community? If you don't have one, then whats that one game you love that no one else has ever heard of?

[QUOTE="Tsuanthony"][QUOTE="Aspen706"]The Sabotuer.Aspen706that was a good game :o Yeah but the reviews were very average. I thought the reviews were pretty much all in the 7.5-8.0 range, that isn't average. Average is 6.0-6.5.
I don't think anybody hates any of the mentioned games, they are just lackluster games. I don't think people hate these games, there's nothing attractive nor memorable for the majority. Great concepts destroyed by **** developers are the games we hate. That and uninspired sequels.
FFXIII seems to get a lot of grief. I love it :)ModerateOsprey
That's what I was going to say. I don't understand the hate, when it actually has alot in common with FFX, which seems to get alot of love.
Super Mario Sunshine. I don't know if it's quite hated, but it's the most criticized and underappreciated of the 3D Mario platformers, and I don't really understand why; I think it's great, and it's one of the more challenging Mario games I've played.
I put well over 200 hours into Romancing Saga on PS2 and it is definitely among my favorite RPGs of all time.
Really? I found it worst in every way. The story now is shorter and it lacks a good ending to the chapter. The ending of the game is not even a proper ending, like they forgot that chapter. The weapons are much weaker than before and you got low ammo plus fov is too close. So combat is worse. It lacks both the vehicle sections of the first and the good gunplay with weapons that are not toys but actual infantry issue made to kill other infantry and not feel like a game that takes tons of hits. Finally you mostly play as that elite rather with masterchief.Halo 2 is very underrated, at least on this board. It's better than the original in every way.

Dual Wielding. Better AI. No overpowered pistol. Deeper combat. Better coop campaign. Better vehicle sections. Better multiplayer levels. Energy sword.
I like the first game a lot, but my gripe with the game was that some of the weapons were too strong, and that the aiming mechanics could have been a little tighter. These were later fixed in halo 2.
Halo 2 is very underrated, at least on this board. It's better than the original in every way.HeirrenI thought H2 was much worse than H:CE. I regret paying $43 for it with every fiber of my being.

I'm not going to argue on which game you or anybody prefers, but usually the only complaints I hear are that of, "you don't play as master chief enough" and "the story and pacing isn't as impressive." I would agree with both of those, as well. However, from a pure gameplay standpoint, the battles are more varied and not as exploitable in halo 2. With the better ai and tighter controls, the game plays better. I stated earlier that one of my problems with the first halo were the unbalanced weapons. What this created in-game were scenerios that relied more on "one-two punch" gameplay, and less on actually assessing the battlefield--where halo 2 improved. That's a key element for why I think halo 2 is the better game.

Meh, not playing as Master Chief didn't bother; the gameplay didn't change at all. Though the story definitely went downhill. I guess for me, H2 just didn't have the same feel to it, something that I can't find the adequate words for expression. Besides, you want a one-two punch gameplay? Try the Plasma Pistol and Battle Rifle.[QUOTE="Heirren"][QUOTE="muthsera666"] I thought H2 was much worse than H:CE. I regret paying $43 for it with every fiber of my being.muthsera666

Try the Plasma Pistol and Battle Rifle.haha...served. The plasma pistol and BR was the most OP thing to ever hit a multiplayer game. [well, maybe] I remember seeing it for the first time and I immediately adapted this into my play style because well I play online to play competitvely and it gave me an edge as well as a chubby. I liked both games but played halo 2 more simply because of the online play which I played waaaaay to much because I could hardly stand to play anymore halo online in halo 3. I pretty much beat that campaign and I was done with that game.
And to add to the thread. Anyone ever played Deathrow? It got meh reviews but it was an interesting fun experience.
Lord of the Rings Conquest was definitely a case of that to the point where Electronic Arts the publisher who had just bought Pandemic for millions of dollars shut down servers support of the online feature to the title.
Monster Madness Battle for Suburbia had me feeling that.
I know that people are split on FFVII versus VIII but I definitely like VIII better.
People say the Virtual Boy was terrible but I actually liked Galactic Pinball and Wario Land.
DDR probably falls into that category in some way.
Then again there are a long list of titles high and low that I don't like either.
GTAIV. I thought it was pretty good i dont get y ppl hate on it because it was different to san andreas
The Movies and Bully are two games I love that no one has ever heard about.
Dekonizer
I loved bully, it was just something different n i enjoyed the game's humor.

Eh, the plasma/br combo was dropped rather quickly online. Plus I was referring more to the AI than anything else.
Anyways, I'm gonna add one of my favorite PS2 games that tends to get no respect--KILLSWITCH.
Anyways, I'm gonna add one of my favorite PS2 games that tends to get no respect--KILLSWITCH.HeirrenI just got that a couple of weeks ago, and it's near the top of the list when I start playing shooters again. It looked pretty intense.
I have a few:
Rampage: Total Destruction for Wii (49,6% on Gamerankings) is one of my favourite games this gen. I can understand that people were put off by its apparent monotony and lackluster technical quality, but it really did everything I'd have wished from a new Rampage game: 3D environments, tons of new, well-designed monsters, more interesting level progression, multiple interesting play modes and a very interesting and addicting score system. Reviewers probably never explored the game fully, because especially the scoring aspect doesn't become apparent/interesting until you've gotten more into the game. I also suspect reviewers forgot to insert the Nunchuck in the Wiimote, as they called it 'unplayable', which is a rather remarkable feat for a game I've invested over a 100 hours into.
The Conduit (72,33% on GR): Granted, it's a mediocre shooter in many aspects, but the controls are so awesome and tight that it makes up for a lot. I'm playing through the campaign for a second time, and it's even more fun than the first. I'm really hoping for Conduit 2 to become the game that The Conduit should've been.
TMNT for Wii (61,4% on GR): This game got mediocre reviews, but I really loved it. It offered satisfactory fast-paced 3D platforming, and even though the battling was a bit simple, it wasn't annoying or anything. There were a couple of issues regarding unclear controls and problems with the camera, but once I got used to everything I just breezed through the worlds like a true ninja. It was just was I'd expect a 3D Turtles game to be like.
I could go on for a while, as I'm really into these more obscure games, but these were the first ones that came to my mind.
Wii Play. I like it. Sure, it's not amazing, but I don't think it's nearly as terrible as some people make out. I think the likes of Find Mii, Tanks, Fishing, etc. are excellent little games and overall it's a good collection. I can totally understand the cynicism towards its position as one of the biggest selling "unbundled" games of all-time when the only reason it sells is because it's bundled with a controller. But aside from that, I think it's a good game/collection of games.
