Super Mario Bros. 3. It was so good that they hyped it up by releasing that movie with Fred Savage, the Wizard I think it's called.

I have really fond memories of the adventure island games. Though every game posted so far is solid gold.

i've experienced many many nintendo games and i can say super mario bros. 3 easily gets the crown as best achievement

GameBoy - Tetris / TMNT Fall of the Foot Clan
SNES - Super Mario World / TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (2d) - Star Fox (3d)
GBA - Mario Kart Super Circuit
N64 - Mario Kart 64 / Star Fox 64
GameCube - Mario Kart Double Dash / Star Wars: Rogue Leader

if I had a DS or a Wii I know I'd have New Super Mario Bros.

My personal favorite? Way to tough to decide!

Overall best Nintendo game of all time, I'd have to say the first Super Mario Bros from a technical, historical standpoint.
