PS4 Day one. I don't know how anyone can continue with the current gen, it's been feeling pretty dead for the last couple of years.

Pretty much for 360 anyway, ps3 not so much to be honest. Last of Us, Puppeteer, Beyond Two Souls, Dragons Crown, God of War: Ascension, Gran Turismo 6, Guacamelee, Ni No Kuni, Rain, Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank: Into Nexus and Tales of Xillia all sound like a good year of exclusives to me. You might hate some of them on that list. But it's a pretty good list.

I'm a hermit first, cow second - and I consider all of these games are good, but not great. Great examples of the games meandering their way out onto the market before the death of a console. They certainly aren't good reasons to keep this gen alive any longer.

Those are still some damn good games

I pre-ordered, and am getting a PS4 on launch day. I am not worried about the release day-titles, I simply just want the new Playstation. I won't worry...the games will come later. I'm pretty sure the likes of next-gen. FIFA 14 and next gen. Battlefield 4 will keep me occupied for a long time. Heck, I can probably manage with only one title (FIFA 14) for a longer period of time.

The reason why I want a PS4 at launch, besides that I really _WANT_ it, is that my current PS3: I believe it is "waiting for the fat lady to sing" or something. After my old PS3 got YLOD'ed, I had to purchase a used PS3. I cooked the old PS3 in my oven. This got it working just enough to transfer all my save-games, files and information onto my new used PS3. I can live without gaming (?) for a short period, but I also use the PS3 to play blu-rays and dvds, so when the PS4 comes I'll feel more at ease.

Another reason concerning games: I'm sure that there will crop up multiple titles available for download via the PSN which will keep me satisfied (along with FIFA 14, if I suddenly get the urge for another title).

I've been following the unveiling of the PS4 and been very interested for a long, long time now. I've been ready for the next generation of gaming for a long time, as well. To me, PC-gaming is not an option. I prefer to sit infront of my big-screen in the living-room, relaxing and never worry about min. specs or recommended specs. I've been a part of that race when I was younger, and if you are into that whole scene, then you are very welcome to, but to me it was too expensive and "a bit of work".

The machine (PS4) looks great, and as stated above, I am really ready for the next-generation gaming experience. The sooner I have it, the sooner I am a part of the next gen. experience. Hopefully the blu-ray player (not that the PS3 blu-ray player was bad)will be upgraded along with the dvd player so I can use it immediately. Also I would just like to get to _know_ the machine early.
I don't know if that was clear at all, but that's more or less why I want a PS4 :)

I am very ready for the next gen. of gaming, and I am very ready for my PS4

Buying a Wii U seems like a possibility in late 2014.

PC gamers should be especially thankful for the next generation. Once the new machines are out in the wild for a year or so the bar will officially be raised. For console players, they'll get to see what PC gamers have had over the last year or two and then some, and for PC gamers the bar will be raised so that everything will improve, at least in graphical fidelity and hopefully in other areas such as; Density of environments, improved middle-ware tools to accommodate the newer "base level", and if we're really lucky we can see some developers use that new power to step up AI subroutines (is that the proper term?) for a more engaging CPU enemy to fight.

The console crowd gets new toys, the PC crowd gets new toys, and everyone wins. YAY!

I'm going to wait for a price drop on the PS4. I'll get it if the exclusives resonate well with me. I have no interest in the XONE. As for the Wii U... I kind of want it right now, but I don't know yet.

I'll likely get my Wii U sometime next year. I'd like to have one right now, but I just don't have the money.
