I agree, Gamespot is VERY bias against Sega
but Sega 16, is a bit bias of course, they try to fight it, but in the end it still shows.
When I look at a review from classic game room or from teh videogame critic I actually get the feeling of someone who is completly impartial
rilpas
Mark from CGR is definitley impartial, I agree, but he only has around 70+ Genesis reviews and maybe around 10 for the CD and 32X. And just from browsing videogame critic, what's this? Sonic CD a C+? Streets of Rage an A, but Streets of Rage 3 a B? Yeah, um, so short paragraphs and not even all the games from the library... SEGA-16 looks a lot better. :P
actually I agree with the critic
Streets of rage 3 always felt like the weakest in the series to me (you'll notice he also reviewed Bare Knuckle 3 and gave it a higher score)
and quite honestly, Sonic CD getting a C+ is being generous imo
Wow, dude, you speak cardinal sins in the mind of this SEGA fanboy. :x
Seriously though, Streets of Rage 3 is worse than 2, I can agree with that, but no way is it worse than the first one. Forget the no specials, SoR1 is very stiff in comparison to the other two and the damages are completely wack with enemies taking off half to most of your health. SoR3 builds off 2's gameplay by giving running to each character, the star moves, the ingenious bar that lets you do specials without taking damage, and you can even be a Shiva! Yeah, the music is worse, and there are some parts where I feel the designers were cheap by just throwing wave after wave of enemies at you without letting the screen go forward. Still, it's a fantastic game all around, and I don't understand how anyone can legitimately think the first one is better. Yeah, it's harder than Bare Knuckle, but it's no big deal if you're good, and Bare Knuckle 3's damage system is pretty ridiculous IMO, and especially in regards to specials. Oh, and one more thing, unless I'm taking it out of context, that guy flat out lied about the fat guys "now" have rolling attacks. They do that in SoR3 as well.
As for Sonic CD, even GS gave it an 8.5, just sayin'. :P
Overall just comparing reviews, Sega-16 ones are way more fleshed out. From what I've read here, they're more like short 2 cents rather than going into depth.
