Microsoft or Sony since there first party games are on the same level as free facebook games. They both are easy to replace. They both provide a hardware which needs third party support to survive.Withour first party Xbox 720 and PS4 will be dead on arrival.Just look at the VITA:It is dieing without third party support like Monster Hunter which went to Nintendo instead.Apple or Samsung could easily replace them both.Nintendo is independent and has defined gaming more than anything else so are needed to stay alive.Sony and Microsoft are as worthless and needless for gaming industry as Atari and Sega are now in 2012.
Microsoft has a console??
I guess it just doesn't speak to me.
Sony has the games with depth (or, "mature") while Nintendo has the fun ones to play with anyone + their old handheld line-up is still keeping me busy to the point where I can wait for the 3DS to catch up...same goes for Vita. The PS3 still has games I can't wait to play.
None really.
If I had to choose ONE...I'd say..... NONE, really. :P
All 3 companies benefit each other quite nicely. That's the beauty of competition.
I like MS for bringing Western gaming development to consoles, at a time where Japanese gaming were dominant.
I like Nintendo for their Handhelds and for being that last and only gaming company that makes consoles.
i like Sony for pretty much being that "hardcore" centric gaming company.
I'd choose Nintendo. They were revolutionary back in the 80's / early 90's but let's face it, their most popular titles have been constant rehashes and sequels to the same s***.
Super Mario Bros
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart
Zelda
Zelda Ocarina Of Time
Metroid
Metroid Prime
etc, etc. Gamecube was their last decent console imo. Plus that Wii remote, motion control crap looks mad gay When I play games, I may want to reach for some water, sit back and have fun. When I want to workout, I'll hit the gym or do some calisthenics.
Nintendo, I hate everything it makes

Being serious though: I'd have to say Microsoft, simply because almost everything on the 360 is on PC and PS3, also they don't need to keep making consoles since they make PCs anyway. Sony is next in line for the same reasons, and then finally Nintendo because, despite their gimmicky hardware, they make their games for their consoles, not for a wide range of systems.
My first instinct is to say nintendo, since I never get any of that stuff, but perhaps a better answer would be Sony, what i really would want is sony and microsoft to make a single console, blu-ray, xbox live, 360 controller, wifi, 1080p, all that good stuff. impossible I know, but I can dream.
so there'd be one casual/kiddie/motion console (nintendo) and one hardcore/seriours gaming console (PSBox)
Thats actually a really hard one... for me anyway..
I have owned all 3 consoles and think they are all good so i wouldnt like to see any of them stop making consoles, I think that the comeptition is good for us..
But if one was to stop making i would say microsoft, as long as like sega they start releasing games for the other two, because some of the exclusives i have enjoyed alot.
Nintendo by default. They currently add nothing but cheap gimmicks to the industry. They facilitate the replaying of ancient franchises but just in a different way. And why when I mean different I mean in the sense you are playing the same game, with the same mechanics just differently. There is nothing particularly new. This direction of making traditional games more and more inaccessible is becoming problematic. Nintendo fans have to see that they are beeing played and not in a good way. When a gaming company is unable to evolve their franchise and is force to use gaming gimmicks to keep this recycled games alive a red flag should go off in your head. Motion controls is fine. I have no problem with games implementing this feature or being entirely motion controlled. However, this method of interaction is not (NOT) superior to traditional control systems and should not be used to replaced traditional controls. Its function is supposed to be complimentary not mandatory. Forcing this crap in every game has done more harm to the industry then good and it not because it made games better but because it became the numer 1 selling gimmick and not everyone wants to get a piece of this forbidden pie.

Good answer. It wont happen, but you picked the best things from both consoles.

north and south korea will reunite, muslims and jews will get along, cats and dogs will marry and still sony and microsoft will fight each other
Nintendo. I base it off very simple things: What games are there to be played on your console? If the selection isn't good, Im not buying it. Your system is worthless. Motion gaming is a gimmick, I hate it. Thumbs down. Nintendo's game output has been remakes and 1st partygames, and Im sick of it.
Microsoft, i remember when the 360 was great but then MS started turning it into a casual centric waste of space, all i use mine for is playing DVDs, i do my gaming on PS3 and PC.
Personally I think nintendo should just quit while they are still slightly ahead. It's always a sad thing when brands kill off their legend by running a name into the ground.
nintendo.. their gimmicks have gone from impressive but emty to just empty..Microsoft. I'm finding fewer and fewer reasons to have both a 360 and PS3, and if their next console is just another direct competitor to the PS4 I doubt I'll get one. Especially since Microsoft seems to be pushing games into the background in favor of ads and tv shows, it's just not what I want.
I'm interested to see if the Wii U or whatever they decide to call it will live up to it's potential.

seriously the wii has to be the biggest joke of a console since the SNES in terms of periphreals and controllers. the wii despite record sales has failed to impress anyone with a single major title as of recent memory. seriously name a game on the wii only thats scored better than an 85 on MC thats under 6 months old, it cant be done. its major franchises are shells of their former selves and is now being forced to gamble on franchises that havent seen the light of day since i was a kid to try and save itself from being rendered the most purchases console nobody gave a ---- about. i have a funny feeling it will simply end up tarnishing alot of good characters names and maybe even turning a few into the next sonic.
nintendo needs to quit before they destroy every franchise they have going for them
second i pick microsoft as the XBOX is doing nothing productive with itself.. its serving as a way of annoying every other platform.. its the mitt romney of the console industry (for those that dont get the reference mitt hasnt a ----ing clue why hes running for office and only ran for his current position to bankrupt his opponent)
Either Sony or Microsoft. Microsoft seems to just be trying to cash-in on casuals and cares little for the hardcore gamer(hopefully this changes next gen but it doesn't look like it) and Sony with their "Every game needs an online pass" is just ridiculous.Moriarity_isnt that more with the game companies like ea rather than sony?
None of them, I like having more options, and I like things about each console. If I had to choose though, I guess I would go with Microsoft, since I don't play the 360 much.
