Which main character have had the most voice acting and development in a game?

I like a game where you by the end of the game, really have gotten to know the characters in a game. Movies for example are too short to really get to know a person if you ask me.

So my question is! Which main character or character in general has the most voice acting and character development ever in a game?

hmm...I kind of want to say Martin Septim from Oblivion. They got Sean Bean to voice him, and he had a lot of lines.

There was also a boatload of great voiceacting in Mass Effect.

Ya those were good but I wanted to slap Zoe around by the end cuz she whined so much.

i really cant think any character besides Snake for this question...all others are just shallow compared to Snake...

Clearly Solid Snake like everyone says...

But some other good choices could be Niko Bellic from GTA 4 and Commander Shepard from Mass Effect. Only recently have we started to see mainstream main character voice acting. Sure we see other characters voice acting, but not the main one. Hell for the first few generations starting with the NES, the main character didn't even have dialogue. If you think about it, we've made great strides.
