I like them both and I know that these two games are amazing to play so that you guy's can decide which racing game is better Gran turismo 3:A-Spec or Burnout 3:Takedown I would say that Gran turismo 3:A-Spec is a real racing game and Burnout 3:Takedown is more like that you can have more fun with it.

Trick question, F-Zero GX is the best racing game. Though if you mean realistic. Project Cars looks pretty sick.

Gran Turismo 3 is my favorite racing game of all time, such a huge leap from PS to PS2. It was visually stunning, and just loved everything about it. Burnout 3 was an exceptional racer as well!

You realize that both games have almost nothing in common with each other aside from the fact that you race cars in them, right? It's like comparing apples to oranges.

Although Gran Turismo 3 was almost near perfection, burnout 3 still ends up being among my favourite games of all time. It was so insanly fun that it is still hard to grasp why there hasn't been a true sucessor to the game and don't give me the blasphemy that was Paradise.

No racing game is better than Burnout 3: Takedown. This is an irrefutable fact.

One is a sim and one is an arcade racer. They can't really be compared. Forza 4 so far is the best racing game i have played

^Burnout 3 is better than most games, period. Never mind just racing games.

Indeed. It's an all-around, bona-fide masterpiece.

Love both, but A Spec is my clear winner. It was next gen. It was glorious.

Most would argue there are multiple categories of racer. Sim and arcade included. How can one compare a game where the goal is clean sections and perfect corners to one that rewards chaos?

Both are probably my favourite driving games of all time. If I had to compare them, I'd say Burnout 3 is more fun (being an arcade-style racer), while Gran Turismo 3 offers a deeper experience (being a sim racer). In other words, if I was playing with mates, I'd probably prefer Burnout 3. But if I was playing by myself, I'd probably prefer Gran Turismo 3.

Exactly. The point of all the Gran Turismo games is to provide the greatest possible degree of verisimilitude, whereas the entire Burnout series is about crazy, over-the-top crashes. It's like comparing Arma with Duke Nukem.

True, but for the sake of the thread I think one should recommend which they had more fun with. Even if they're racing games with different goals, they shouldn't state the obvious especially when one has already stated in the thread "apples to oranges". It's plain annoying. Just leave or answer the ****ing question. It certainly doesn't help answer the OP. (And haha, sorry for ranting at you.)

Why not rant at me? I'm right here. :P

For the record, I had more fun with Burnout although I do enjoy proper racing sims (I have a g27 wheel and I'm getting a Obutto R3volution Racing Cockpit delivered tomorrow).

"Even if they're racing games with different goals, they shouldn't state the obvious"

If it was so obvious to you, why did you have to ask what we were talking about?

I never asked anything. Once someone already states apples to oranges, you don't have to restate it.

Riddle me this. If someone put a gun over your head and asked you which game was better, what would you say? And you can only pick one. Or else... You-get-the-point. If your life depended on it, what would you say?

That last statement is a... are you ready for this... QUESTION (even though you neglected to put a question mark at the end of the sentence).

As for your "riddle", I had already answered it before you asked. I underlined the relevant portion and put it in bold to make it less confusing for you.

Let me know if you need any more assistance.
