I'd prefer having both bt I guess I'd go with the X-box. I really enjoted the Halo series. The Gamecube had some fine games, but alot were just a bunch of sequels to N64 games.

The GC primarily because I have a 360 and PS3 so I can play every old game except for SNK vs Capcom on one or the other and I refuse to buy a Wii. The other Reson would be the Resident Evil Games, MGS: TT, and SC 2.

graphics = xbox

games = xbox.......halo vs mario?

controls = both

if you are under 12, gamecube is great. for violent games, get xbox the fps king. nintendo = party king

Gamecube: Resident Evil 4, Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil 0 and Remake, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Wind Waker, Star Fox Adventures, a couple Harvest moon games, Mario Kart, the Mario Parties....etc. I would much rather have a GC than original Xbox. (I did own both however, and did really enjoy the xbox too)

Gamecube.

While the XBox has more games, there are at least 150 good Gamecube games - I'm sure you'll find something to keep you busy while you save up for a next gen console.

Gamecube unit appears to be more reliable. I doubt if a functioning XBox will be around 5 years from now.

Controls on Gamecube are better. XBox controller is clunky, buttons are poorly placed and the buttons don't feel comfortable when you've been playing for hours.

Gamecube is a better size - we are supposed to be advancing in technology which generally means smaller electronics.

And the clincher, Gamecube not made by Microsoft. Stop supporting corporations you don't like by not buying their products.

Tough question. I've never owned just one console per generation. Probably Gamecube though, too many good frist party titles and Resident Evil games.

If you already have a PS2, then a GC is a great side kick console. The Xbox had some fine games, but for my tastes, GC was the better runner-up to PS2.

I already own a PS2/Wii so I don't need any of them. But if I have to choose, then the XBOX because the Wii can play GC games and I want some Halo :)

Gamecube by far. I prefer Halo: Combat Evolved, Fable, KOTOR, KOTOR II, and most other Xbox games on the PC. Both are great systems though.

No, the Xbox was more powerful than the Gamecube. More RAM, faster CPU, faster GPU.

I voted gamecube. Although i have both consoles....i liked the Xbox for some games, like...Oddworld, Black, MGS2S, Blood Omen, Broken sword 3 and PGR, i gotta go for gamecube as its the snes idea all over again (Gameboy Player) I've been a long running fan of metroid so metroid prime and 2 echoes, Metal Gear Solid TTS, F Zero GX, Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2, Extreme G 3 Racing, Viewtiful Joe, RE4, Zelda WW, eternal darkness. I used to have a Wii but after seeing how very little difference between the GC and Wii there is in Graphical Capabilities and very few games at the time, i kept my GC.

Damn right they are. I'm not finding Ninja Gaiden as hard as I thought I would but then again I only just defeated the first boss with the nunchuks, so I'm probably going to regret saying that later. And Riddick is awesome, plus those are some might fine graphics.

I'm looking forward to next week, getting Fable, KOTOR, Conker and Doom 3.

I had both..

GC- F-Zero GX, Ikaruga, and Eternal Darkness were my favorites. Metroid Prime couldn't keep me interested. I was a lonely bug exterminator with extremely clunky controls.

XBox- Otogi 1 and 2, KOTOR 1 and 2, CoR: Escape from Butcher Bay, Halo 1 and 2, Mech Assault 1 and 2, Forza Motorsport, Fable, Jade Empire, and Psychonauts to name a few.

Overall, I'd go with a piece of Mint Chocolate pie...

I own the Gamecube, choose the Gamecube, and it's home to the games I prefer.

I borrowed friend's Xbox for a few months... and have one word to decribe the original Xbox: Halo.

I choose xbox because it had a hard drive and I have had far too many memory card problems. I used to own a GC but there weren't too many games I liked. I did really enjoy Custom Robo though. In the end I choose xbox because the gamecube does not meet my standard for gore.

Now: Gamecube

Back then: Xbox

For some reason Xbox games seem to be more dated because it had many good shooters which are being outdone on the new consoles.

Assuming that I can still keep my Wii, I'd go with the Xbox because the Wii has near-perfect backwards compatibility (much unlike the X360). Thus, the GCN's best games are still accessible to me. Of course, too many of the Xbox's games have superior PC versions, but it still has a few notable exclusives of its own (Steel Battalion, Jet Set Radio Future, and Panzer Dragoon Orta, just to name a few). Also, the Xbox can be more easily turned into a full-blown computer if you have the right tools.

If you have a Wii, Xbox, no doubt. If you don't have a Wii, I'd look into the games, cause after all, you'll be playing on them.

I voted Gamecube because they had some JRPGs and that's my favorite genre.

Gamecube- Animal Crossing, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Baiten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia, Soul Calibur II (Link).

X-Box- Halo 1, plus multi-console games (but it's only a very minor downgrade to play them on the GC).

GameCube - has some of the gratest game series and the game don't get boring and there is a lot of fum multiplayer games.

XBOX - Halo series and some other games plus the game that xbox have they are going out of style besides halo.

And for gamecube you got original stuff like Mario games and resistance evil !!! GameCube !!!
