sonic. i never owned a nintendo system growning up, all i owned were SEGA systems.
and NO im not a fanboy or anything, thats just what my parents got me for Christmas / birthday etc.(so i guess u can say they were the fanboys)
I found out about Sonic first. One of my friends had the games, and it was such a big part of my childhood.
my answer is Mario, because he was created first. Super Mario World came out about the same time as Sonic 1 as i remember..... I had already played Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros. 1-3, and I had seen Mario in other games too (like Mike Tyson's Punchout ).
I'm old enough to have played video games before Sega and Nintendo. I played the Atari 2600 in preschool.
ummm...probz sonic. I didn't have a game console until the first xmas the ps2 came out(was about 10)and mum and dad got me sonic & knuckles on pc when i was about 8
I knew about Sonic first though I was aware of both I found Sonic to be a much more appealing character so I got into his games.
My dad picked up my first console - ColecoVision - with "Donkey Kong" as the pack in game. Back then, Mario was some dolt who climbed up ladders and jumped over burning oil barrels to get to the girl...
...only to move to the next level...and repeat. Ah...memories. :)
First saw Sonic when Genesis came out and my younger cousin got it for Christmas.
I'd say Sonic being as my first console was a sega megadrive.. Poor Sonic, feel kinda sorry for him nowadays
It was Sonic the first game I played of Sonic was on the Master System then the first Mario game I played was on the Game Boy as I never owned a NES. I think Sonic games on the Mega Drive were great but now Sega are terrible with them and the Mario games prove to be a lot better.
