Who else has never played World of Warcraft?

I've somehow managed to resist the urge to play that game. For one it doesn't look that interesting but I've only ever seen people playing it. I imagine that actually playing it yourself adds an intangible new level of interest and fun that makes it all worth it. That kind of makes me want to stay away even more though. I have this fear that playing it make suck me in to the point where playing it is all I want to do. :)

Anyone else here never played it? What's YOUR reason?

And I've heard from friends that as soon as you get to higher end areas of the game and get in a clan or whatever, people expect you to be on at certain times and play so many hours a day.

Its basically like you're paying to have a job. Thats just wrong.

I played once for about 10 mins at my friends house got off and played xbox.

Only if you let them. You don't have to get involved in the hardcore raiding if you don't want to.

Not only am I not a fan of MMORPGs at all, the idea of paying a monthly fee also kills my interest.

Never played, probably never will. I don't want to get sucked into it, I've seen too many of my friends get addicted and almost lose their social life :P.

I like pc gaming, but Ive never cared for paying for the same game every month. So Ive never tried it.

never have. i just don't see the point.... My last job, there where 2 of us that did not play it outta10. Needless to say, we made soooooooooo much fun of the other guys.

I've never played WoW, but I did play a free MMORPG a few years back called Silk Road. It was free at the time. I never liked it, MMORPGs just are not my thing. For me, they remove the best part of an RPG, the plot.

I was a huge Diablo II fan. I guess I would simply LOVE World of Warcraft if I ever played it.

The main reason I'm not playing it is the monthly fee. And the fact I have a MacBook and I don't know if it'll run on it.

Otherwise, it looks extremely fun and (probably too much) addicting.

I used to play, but I quit a few months back. My main complaints were the popluation at large was annoying, It had become the same old grind every day, and people raided durning hours I was not able to be on. It's a good game, but I'm very glad I quit it.

I have not played it either. My reason is that my computersucks and i dont care for the whole monthly paying thing.

I don't like the artstyle or the graphics, so was never that interested. Played Final Fantasy XI. Now that kicked ass.

I was tempted, once, but I decided not to bother. Better off paying the bills and playing more than one game.

I've never played it. I was very close to playing one time. Because I used to watch my cousin play, and it looked pretty cool. But I just couldn't devote all my time into the game. That's the reason I don't play any MMORPG. :P

I've only played the trial version by myself and I could see why it was so addictive. I reached to level 20 in a matter of days before I decided to quit playing it.:P

Nope, never have - mainly because I always lose interest in MMOs.

I've played Runescape and CABAL, and those two are the only things I need to realise that MMOs aren't my type.

Now, I didn't like Runescape, at all. The only reason why I kept playing it is because my friends wanted me to, and that was back in say...5th grade.

But CABAL - I actually liked that game. A lot actually. Compared to Runescape, not only does the gameplay kick it in the balls, it's community is Heaven, compared to Runescape's Hell.

But I just naturally lose interest in MMOs. By the time I got to level 40-something in Runescape, I was on the verge of killing myself. By the time I got to level 47 in CABAL, I was bored to death due to being forced to grind. (Yup, grinding is actually a legitimate requirement to learn skills. Not fun after an hour or so, even with it's kickass gameplay and graphics...Well, for a free MMO, of course.)

Same here, and after playing Final Fantasy XI I vowed to never play MMORPGs ever again. That game takes over your life. I missed on the last generation of games because of FFXI. I'm not making that mistake again. But, Final Fantasy XIV does look tempting.

Never played it, never will. I just really hate the art style of it and I'm really not a huge fan of the whole "Wizards and Warlocks" thinganyway. I even got a free trial disc for the game when I bought Diablo II and I still didnt play it. The only MMORPG I would even consider playing is Star Trek Online.

Man. I just can't say how it warms my heart to know I'm not the only one. :)

yup.. i tried it once in a friends house but i just couldnt get into it.. :P

it's funny i've probably played almost every great game ever, other than WOW.

i have resisted as well. i just wont pay to play a single game. thats some bs suscription rip off.

I have never played it. Never really felt the urge.

I stopped playing about a year ago, but may reactivate my account for a month when the new expansion is released - it's hard to resist.

The latest expansion, in my opinion, was terrible and it didn't seem worth paying money to be forced into raids with my guild, idling around major cities listening to the "An*l joke" spam and getting very depressed sitting in front of a computer for 12+ hours a day.

I'd suggest if you've not played the game to just leave it alone and not touch it.
