I find the lack of MGS1... disturbing.

Well , still , it's a very SOLID package for the most SOLID of fans - even though I've already had finished playing everything in that package - I'm still going to buy it.
Still , my wallet money is going to flow out like LIQUID at this rate.

the first game wasn't on there: The PS2/XBOX/GCN/PC titles are easy to make look decent in HD, just by raising the resolution. Really, that is all they are doing. They are not making new textures, or adding more polygons, or anything like that. They are just doing the same thing PC gamers do to their games when they want them to look better... Flipping the switches on the graphic settings Now if you tried this with a PS1 game, you have a very weak source, and the game will still look really dated. It just would not fit in an HD remake collection. The same would also apply to tons of last gen titles. It just happens that the games being chose for these ports already look really good. Truthfully, if you don't care about the addition of trophies and achievements, you can already do exactly what these guys are doing by using a legal emulator on your PC. And that would cost you absolutely nothing, except the original games, which are dirt cheap right now. Oh, and you'd actually get 60fps at 1080p. Not this 30fps at 720p crap. Anyone buying these HD ports is getting scammed, hard. There's no new content, not even new textures, just the same games in a higher resolution. You can do the same damn thing with your PC in 5 seconds for free. Paying $60 for these collections is just... ugh. It makes me sick what these companies are getting away with.

"The games have been remastered in 1080p by Bluepoint Games, the same company that produced the God of War Collection and the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection. Regarding Peace Walker HD, Jiroo Tsubuyaki said, "It's not just emulation. There are many areas that are being remade, and the play feel is completely new." New features include: right analogue stick compatibility, rumble support, high quality sound, and trophy/achievement support. Visually, the menus and other areas have been completely remade. Initially it was announced that Metal Gear Solid 2 and Peace Walker would run at 60fps while Metal Gear Solid 3 would run at 30fps. It was later revealed that the whole collection, including Metal Gear Solid 3 will run at 60fps"

Don't let a little thing like the facts get in the way of your rant. ;) For alot of us, this is the first chance to get a playable version of Peace Walker, whose PSP controls, to put it nicley as possible, sucked. I found the PSP game borderline unplayable. You can't scam the willing, they are telling me what I am getting, and I am saying "sounds like a good deal, gimme". I'm buying pretty much all of them, and will download the improved God of War games as well. Having all these great games available to play on my HDTV (haver you tried playing MGS3 on a 40 inch HDTV with composite cables? It borders on unplayable) is worth the asking prices.

I'm buying most of these, and already have the PoP games as well. I'll also get the just announced remaster of FFX. I don't really think any judgements of my character can be made from my hobby habits (and I think you're forgetting that's what gaming is), but if you want to try to do so, I'll find a way to deal with it, I'm sure.

Why are people so weird about these HD collections? If you've played the games, or don't have any interest in them, good for you. Don't play them.

Personally, since Metal Gear Solid is one of my favorite series in gaming history, and I have yet to complete MGS3 (I know, sacreligious) and have never touched Peace Walker, I'm gonna play the hell out of this.

And I'll probably get it on the 360 just to be extra funky.

Probably my second or third most wanted collection (right behind Final Fantasy and maybe Kingdom Hearts).

As I already own MGS1 off the PSN Store I am personally glad they are giving us Peace Walker instead. Sucks for those who would rather have the whole collection though.

Still I get to play through MGS2 and MGS3 again, some of the most gripping stories I've ever seen unfold

Awesome stuff!
