Seriously...I was in Gamestop earlier today and asked if I could preorder the Rock Band 3 wireless (that's right....WIRELESS) keyboard. I could...but at a price point of $79.99 and $129.99.

So, why exactly are accessories so expensive these days? I saw the Wii MotionPlus for about 60 bucks, more than that of a Wii game. PS Move, about 50 bucks (as are the DS3 controllers).

Now, Kinect is a new technlogy so it's normal to see it priced at $149.

But....I personally think controllers and stuff should be priced no more tha $30. So why are they so expensive? (Especially the ultra-rare SFIV limited edition joysticks)

That's where the companies make their money - selling you all the extra bits. They pull you in with a cheap or cheaper intro pack then sell everything extra you need at a higher price.

The tech, I guess, plus the fact that the manufacturers just can. As far as Rock Band 3's keyboard goes, you're better off scouting out a used MIDI keyboard in your local classifieds and picking up a MIDI box for the game. It'll probably cost the same as the official keyboard, but it'll also work as a standalone keyboard and have more keys. For everything else...there are so few competitive third party options (most third party stuff is garbage and the big three know it) that they can overcharge for basic stuff and people will continue to buy it. I mean, a full Wii controller with motion plus and a nunchuck is about $70, isn't it? I'd hate to know how many they've sold.

The market price is base on what they can sell it for. Meaning that they can only sell what people want at the price they are will to[ay for it.

Accessories are annoyingly expensive nowadays. A second controller for the PS2 was 15 pounds, it's 35 pounds for the PS3.

This reason has pushed me to buy used on eBay. I'm a full-time college student and I work full-time. I'm poor so I do not have a choice. I've already been buying less and less games as of late so these highly priced accessories doesn't go well with my budget hehe.

Hardware and parts is where the money is at, that's basically why.
