Whenever I play a game of Halo or Call of Duty, people tend to talk bad about those who camp. For those who don't know, camping is when a player stays in one spot and waits for other to come by to kill. I honestly think that if a player died by a camper then it's his/her own fault for not being aware. Once I played games like Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Halo Reach, and etc for long then that's when I finally realize where people tend to camp and I know what and what not to do. If I died by a camper then it's my fault for not expecting it. I would often throw a grenade in corners campers tend to hide and there would be a 70% chance they die or get hurt. What do you think of campers? Do you think they're just regular people just trying to have fun? What are your experience? TheHRchannel
I am a griefer so I enjoy it when they complain, makes me smile all the more while I camp. I don't camp on stuff like CTF though, all depends on the game.
It's more of a scapegoat for players that aren't as good at the game as they think they are. It's just a lot easier to call someone a camper, who probably spotted the player beforehand and just waited for the easy kill, then to admit they are less skillful and try to work on becoming better. It's just another term that has become a plague in the online gaming community, which is why I love the mute feature so much.
This topic has come up numerous times before and my opinion still hasn't changed.
Camping is absolute BS. I hate it because it just drains all the fun out of a multiplayer FPS experience, why do we need to go around all slow and caution-like because some scrub is sitting in a corner waiting for you to cruise by and gun you down. Honestly, it's so much more fun when everyone is running around trying to flank the other team, evading enemy fire, and just plain going after one another. Campers often come through with the hilarious reasoning "Well, in real life, soldiers don't go around exposing themselves to the enemy", well guess what? THIS ISN'T REAL LIFE, IT'S A FLIPPIN' VIDEO GAME. Sometimes I just think that they should make a mode that those who like to camp could play in, while a whole other mode for those who aren't chicken-s*** babies who cry over their k/d ratio.

It's easier to do better while camping than it is when moving around. I don't get why people camp, how is it fun to hide in a corner and press a button when somebody comes into view? You don't get better by playing that way. All you are doing is getting cheap kills. I generally don't hate campers because I find that most of them are bad players. They might kill me the first time but I always get them back. nutcrackr
A good camper will move and wait for you to come back ;)

That can be pretty fun if you don't mute people, which I tend to do. I've gotten pretty high killstreaks doing that when I'm bored. That's not my normal style of play though, it's just something different. As for camping in Halo, what's the point? A good player can kill the camper everytime.
Depends on the game. In CoD for example, camping is so easy to do that you can pretty much do it on the move. The game is just built that way(seems to me) so that's how I'll play. In BFBC2 camping does not help my team very much, so I'm usually running with my team where I can be a much bigger help.
