Are the mods really that good? Because it's been a while since I've seen a CdProjectRed worshipper or a Souls elitist.

@rpgfanatic619: Depends which Forum board you go on, might have a different opinion if you do some thread searching.
Though will state (in recent memory) the Mods are doing a good job here at Gamespot. I don't have much to complain about, the community has been more User friendly than I ever found it in past years.
It's not as popular as it use to be, however, when you think of the Users attitude half a decade ago? I'll take this community anyday_
Gamespot had a giant purge a few years ago and it never recovered.
They banned everyone and the community never came back.
We have threads on the first page of every forum that are 1-2 weeks old.
5-10 years ago that never would would have happened. Gamespot is essentially dead when it comes to traffic which makes the site boring.
It's basically the same dozen people talking to each other.
@rpgfanatic619: Like everyone said, System Wars is basically the only forum where you will find lots of fanboys in that place. I myself go there not because of the fanboys, it's because it's the only forum that's always active and it's always been the most popular forum in Gamespot but even then, I wish this place was way more active like the good old days but nope, everyone loves System Wars.
@rpgfanatic619: The fanboys post in the "System Wars" board if that's what you're looking for. I find most of them pretentious.
A User in a recent GD thread told me System-Wars isn't like that anymore and more respectful.
Had my doubts. Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't want to re-witness the bloated hot-air for myself. Some things just never change.

Can't speak for everyone but I'd take the minority that want to chat and discuss gaming here in GD. Over immature Users that focus on baiting and trolling any-day.
Plus we've always had a few bad cases who leak from SW onto GD. And they have no idea what they're talking about, do even half of them that dedicate themselves to SW play the games they're commenting about; or is it just a few?
I'm generally curious because I'm unlikely to check the SW Forum myself. . Seeing as stupid makes my eyes bleed_
But on the subject of Games Discussion I don't want to be 'that guy' but this whole thread seems to fit Off-Topic more than Game Discussion :P
@RSM-HQ: System Wars has always been more of a fun play just for the baiting/discussing serious topics on games and the place is really full of Sony fanboys and there really isn't that many Xbox, Nintendo fanboys and more PC fanboys however. The place isn't as bad, there are really nice GS users still over there, myself included. (only few of us cooler folks) I always go there and I have made some cool folks over there I happen to be called friends, I made some enemies as well but in the end, it's just for fun and there are times you need to turn your brains off to understand what's going on in the threads.
Most important thing to know in System Wars, never take it too seriously, that's the main rule when it comes to dealing with SW.
As far as other forum goes, Off-Topic is really my main place and follow by Retro, Games Discussion and System Wars.
@davillain-: If you have fun with SW that's all well and good. And glad it's working for you.
Though I already know from recent experience here in my last GD thread that some who leak over from SW, are bad apples (putting it politely)
I'm not calling out that certain someone but it certainly wasn't fun for me, and that User was looking for trouble for whatever reason it may have been, even started targeting someone else while I was asleep. It was a clear case of Cyberbullying, and if it was funny to someone reading it, that's fine, but I know me and the other guy wasn't exactly entertained. And the person who was the cause was battling his demons in the wrong way.
I have no issue with Users such as yourself Dav, may I just point that out.
Sure I've disagreed with your views at times, yet that to me makes a good discussion, as we see things from opposite angles. That's the reason I came to the GS Forums to begin with, chatting with different Gamers from different places. . Well, also to improve my English while talking about games, but that's a whole other subject :)
@rpgfanatic619: There are plenty of fanbois lol all you have to do is bash a game or compare a really popular game vs a old crap game and BAM! them bois be alive lol. Ill start a thread soon and see the explosiveness! Oh and you have to mispell the better game to get under the fan bois's skin LOL.
@sxss: But what's the point of 'bashing' a game. That's the sort of thing I never understand. Why not focus on a game you like and discuss that rather than spending time bashing something someone else enjoys? The community is way too negative in my opinion and trolls are worse than fanboys. Often they are one in the same though.
@mark1974: I feel like it is more of a social mind game to get someone to try something other than the game they hold so close to there heart. haha sounds gay as fk but its true. Everyone will be a fan of a game vs someone else game which they champion as there own. I only do it to get people out of there ITS THE ONLY GOOD GAME shell idea.
