Why does.....

the Adult Only rating exist if they never put a game out with that rating? It seems every time a game gets that rating slapped on it they just modify the game to have an M rating instead. M rating is 17 years old and adult is 18, so what the hell is the deal? I'm only asking because I think they are going to scale back some of the nudity in God of War 3 to keep it from getting the Ao rating. I think they should be able to put out anything they want and if it's so bad, slap a harsher rating on it. For a game like God of War, it's not like it would hurt sales.

It's considered commercial suicide when a game gets an AO rating. However, with God of War, they could still put in some detailed nudity and get away with an M rating.

Interesting. Is Gamestop included in those who would not sell an Ao game?

Plus Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo take the same stance as retailers in that they won't allow an AO game to be played on their consoles. I disagree with this because that's what parental decisions, guidance are for as well as the parental controls on the consoles. Lance_Kalzas
