[QUOTE="hippiesanta"]this have to be correct.... IGN's video is way better and faster and they have it on youtube too ....(no offence Gamespot...your forum better than anywhere else)c_rake
GameSpot has their videos on YouTube too, you know. Just saying.
I know that, I've subscribe gamespot youtube too, for awhile.......... but the content of IGN and Machinima is more. But I love Jody on Gamespot, she's eccentric in her own wayMy guess is that since IGN is bigger and more well known, game companies let them play the games before GS...
lensflare15, I kind of agree with you. I you go to wikipedia, IGN was mention more. gamespot was highlighted if they review something like Infamous2 and Street Cleaning Simulation. Just see for your selfMy guess is that since IGN is bigger and more well known, game companies let them play the games before GS...

IGN is a joke as far as journalism is concerned, though I will say I enjoy their articles occasionally--namely the throwback ones.

Nope. IGN is more popular because they cater (read: suck up) to more game companies with inflated scores. They also accept review exclusives, which is known, industry-wide, to have lots of behind-the-scene nudging and privledge tied to higher scores. It goes like this -- A game company agrees to give a Site or Magazine exclusive early review coverage as long as it meets a set of guidelines imposed by the publisher. These conditions ALWAYS revolve around scoring requirements. What this translates to is "We'll let you publish this review before anyone else, as long as it's (insert high score here) or above. Otherwise, you can post your review when everyone else does."
Not having exclusive reviews = less hits = less advertiser money = less longevity for the people who run the site.
You figure out the rest.
