won't last you longer, in fact it will probably last you way shorter than one that never broke faulty electronics that get fixed always are more prone for problems again. We are talking about the ORIGINAL xbox, right? Unless the original owner of the first xbox made modification on its cooling or took better care than the other "healthy one" , my bet is that the ones that never broke will last you longer. This is the reason some people may have to fix the same electronics 10 times, while in the same time span, another person has one that never broke.

Be careful herebecauseit just kinda depends. The problem with the xbox and now 360 is that there is a HUGE difference in quality from one xbox to the next. They were made everywhere from China, to theUSA, Mexico, and they even had a plant in Turkey for a while (no joke) so the qualitydiffersgreatly even though they are the same system. While they never officially released the capacity of the massive memory, that varies from xbox to xbox too. If you just go buy a used xbox it could break the very next day. If you buy a refurbished xbox whatever was wrong or died in it has been replaced already. My xbox had the disc drive replaced a few years ago and I would take it over any used xbox just because I know the main mechanical part is new and will last longer than the one in just a regular used xbox. Because they are such faulty systems you may consider buying a new 360 and using the backwards compatibility, the 360 is even more unreliable, but they're getting cheaper and come with a warranty. If you're set on getting a xbox 1any way you slice it, it's a roll of the dice. Just get the cheapest of the two.

Todays' refurbished gaming consoles are most likely to prove faulty sooner than thought. If it were a cartridge-like console, it would last you and give you hours of play. Saying this from experience, but you the one who decides which one to own. But it is recommended to go for a used one which has not been broken yet.

It probably wouldn't matter. The original Xbox's laser wears out pretty fast, so its just a matter of time before it dies no matter how it was made.
