The 3DO wasn't bad, it just had bad games.
The Sega systems were very far from bad. They were all great systems and the first to release in each generation. It's just that Sega always invested too much, too early, and ended up getting one-upped every time by the competition. That said, the Saturn and DC managed to build up amazing libraries before their deaths. The 32X and SCD were just Genesis perhiphials that had potential but got wasted due to shovelware and lack of developer interest.
The Atari systems were pretty good back in their day. Granted Atari had a penchant for overmilking their consumer base, but the Atari 2600 and it's successors in and of themselves were hardly bad systems.
The Virtual Boy was a design fiasco but it at least had a novel idea.
IMO the worst system would be the ngage. There was nothing redeemable about that system whatsoever.
