I'd go with the Virtual Boy. The 2600 didn't seem bad, I LOVE the Dreamcast, and I never played the 3DO. =P

At this point I am going to say Xbox 360, but that might only be because mine just gave me an E74 and my system is out of warranty. It's just me being ticked off, otherwise the system has solid fun games, grrrr those failing systems.

Where is the CDi, Pippin, Gizmondo, or N-Gage? And why is the Atari 2600, Saturn, Dreamcast, Sega CD, and Game Gear in your poll? Also, putting multiple choices under one option completely ruins the whole poll.

Definitely the Virtual Boy. I can still feel my retinas burning! Whoever thought that searing red was the way to go in a dark environment was a good idea needs to be punched. That, and you always looked stupid when you had the goggle lines all over your face when you were done.

Whats wrong with getting more for your money. AFAIK, these systems have excellent, there have been no better times for Western made games than the PS3/360 era.

The N64 and its greatness as you mention got little over 200 titles. Heck it didnt even have a BIOS.

The 3DO wasn't bad, it just had bad games.

The Sega systems were very far from bad. They were all great systems and the first to release in each generation. It's just that Sega always invested too much, too early, and ended up getting one-upped every time by the competition. That said, the Saturn and DC managed to build up amazing libraries before their deaths. The 32X and SCD were just Genesis perhiphials that had potential but got wasted due to shovelware and lack of developer interest.

The Atari systems were pretty good back in their day. Granted Atari had a penchant for overmilking their consumer base, but the Atari 2600 and it's successors in and of themselves were hardly bad systems.

The Virtual Boy was a design fiasco but it at least had a novel idea.

IMO the worst system would be the ngage. There was nothing redeemable about that system whatsoever.

you obviously are ignorant to the truly bad consoles

and what the hell are most of the SEGA consoles up there for?

They all had far better game libraries than the other choices, except the add-ons maybe

Even the NGAGE had a number of reasonable titles. The SCD was actually a great system, the 32X was on the other hand plain crap.

You can't even play the Virtual Boy without wanting to puke or sing that Red Red Wine song. And the 3DO was a good system, just zero marketing and very expensive.

The Atari Jaguar CD

James Rofle talked about it in an AVGN episode. It never worked, even after a guy who was an expert with fixing consoles couldn't get it to work.

I'll go with the Atari 5200, for all the Jaguar's flaws, at leas the controller didn'tbreak after only a few minutes of gameplay, and it's library wasn't just 2600 games with better graphics, and of course at least the Jaguar didn't have a fire hazard disguised as a TV Switch Box/RF Adaptor

I feel that the Atari 2600 and Dreamcast should be put in as legendary systems instead of the worst. I can't really say the worst because there were many unrecognisable consoles that came and went that there would be too many to count.

Many people lied to you.

Indeed they did.

The Dreamcast was far from being a crap system, in fact it actually beat the PS2 in many aspects (ram, anti-aliasing built into the system's hardware, ratio of quality titles vs. crap tiles... at least in my opinion...), it just failed mainly due to a lack of foresight by Sega. The Saturn was also underappreciated as well, most likely due to it being an excellent 2D system in a time in which 2D games were fround upon.

And while some say the Jaguar was terrible, I find it to be a system worth owning for one reason: TEMPEST 2000

The poll is stupid as you have to vote for multiple consoles as the "worst gaming system ever made" so I'm not going to bother voting.

Personally I'd say my worst system is the Grundig Interton

I'd also like to say that the 3DO and N-Gage are not bad systems, sure they're at a much lower level to the mainstream popular machines but both had enough good games in different genre's to keep their owners entertained (unlike the CDI and, probably the Jaguar too I guess)

I'm thinking the cd-i for it's bastardization of Zelda.

The Virtual Boy was a bad idea.

I had a lot of fun with most of the others that you mention.

If you bother reading MY FIRST POST then you would know that if you voted one of the systems with more than one in the category that you should write down on your post which one in the list you did not like.

Someone gave me an R-Zone for my 9th birthday. I played it a few times - basically it was like the Virtual Boy but like you put on these binocular things and it is a completely red screen with you trying to move this dinosaur figure around a level. Never got into it (thankfully).

I'm go with "other", those consoles that are remakes of original hardware. Because all the others I loved at launch, who didn't say "I need one of those" when the Virtual Boy was introduced.
