Xbox Developer Dead in Murder-Suicide

Very sad news from Redmond, Wash. Melissa Batten, 36, a software development engineer in Microsoft's Xbox division, was murdered by her estranged husband, who then shot himself to death, earlier this week.

Tragic, but a familiar pattern. The legal system just isn't equipped to deal with such monsters. Pieces of paper don't impress them. A woman who finds herself in such a situation would probably do better to shoot the loser herself. Better judged by twelve than carried by six.

To honor someone who has enriched the games we play is deserving of any board.

/b/ is full of people with the brain compacity of a dead baby. It just annoys me that this forum seems to think that people will commit suicide over a "cruel" joke. Well I wasn't there, but it would be rash to take offence to peoples skepticism, or maybe far fetched doubts. But then again I always was a blunt and literal person.

As for the news, that is kind of sad, and imo the law doesn't really take these sorts of potential situations into account. Court orders don't mean anything to a lot of people.
