I feel like I missed out, never having played Planescape: Torment, Chrono Trigger, or any of the Mass Effect games. I should do something about that some day.
I am definitely looking forward to Torchlight 2. In fact that's the only PC RPG I am looking forward to. Neverwinter is going to be in the works. I always like the old NWN and NWN 2 and some others that will make quite a stir among those that feed off of the Dragon Age filth that is on the rise (and hopefully fall). I play a load of DS and PSP games, and you can find a load of them on PS consoles. I like Suikoden Tierkreis, Drgn Qst IX, Final Fantasy games, .hack//, and a lot of the classics. There are a load of classics I play for consoles, I really like Azure Dreams. I do play Pokemon and Digimon games. I really dig the ARPGs and mmos as well. There are so many RPGs I play...Fact is, if you are an RPG fan, I hope you get friends with Playstation hardware and, yes, Nintendo, though not as much anymore...
Hey guys, Im a masters student working on a thesis to develop a list of guidelines for RPG game developers. Its purpose is to help game developers create better games by having a strong foundation. Check out this post if you're interested.

Oh, I liked Jade Empire, too, since I loved that Chinese atmosphere.
FF9 is a good story and all you to have good control of the characters' roles.
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and Arcanum. They give you a good amount of free dome to make character and make what skill you pick matter.
Mass Effect 1 is the best balance between by two of favorite genre RPG and Shooter. IT is a shame that did not allow for Role playing in the second and little bit in the third.
Â
1.) Final Fantasy X
2.) Nier
3.) Dragon Age: Origins
4.) Final Fantasy VIII
5.) Drag.on Quest VIII
6.) The Elder Scrolls IV: OblivionÂ
7.) Mass Effect
8.) Final Fantasy XII
9.) Final Fantasy VIIÂ
10.) Persona 3
KOTOR 1
Mass Effect Trilogy
Persona 4
Chrono Trigger
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
