Threads like this never cease to make me feel old...
First console was the Vextrex, purchased sometime early in 1983. Was primarily a console gamer until about 1994 when the vast majority of my gaming slowly switched over to the PC.
Rough timeline of consoles purchased: Vectrex>NES>Gameboy>SNES>Genesis>N64>Dreamcast>Gameboy Advance>PS2>Gamecube>Nintendo DS>XBox360>Wii
Atari 2600 back in 1981. I still remember the day my parents and I went to the store to get it. The price had recently dropped down to $99 with two joysticks, the paddle controllers and the Combat cartridge. At the same time, I also got Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back, and Chopper Command. Got home and hooked it up to my old 12" RCA black and white TV and I was in Heaven. I could not believe how fun it was at the time. Great memories. My next console after that was a Vectrex, and I still kick myself to this day for selling it. I eventually had a decent library of games for both systems too.
I was a mixed child, where I loved Sega and Nintendo. My first video gaming thing, was a computer that escapes my mind. If we're talking like the NES and SNES, it was the Original Gameboy, followed by the Sega Game Gear.
My first console was a Snes, played super mario and donkey kong so much. Then for some reason I just stopped. Then my sister took the games. but somehow I ended up with 2 Snes? BUT NO GOOD GAMES TO PLAY IN THEM ITS LIKE A NIGHTMARE!!!!!

my first console I played was a NES and SNES in the same day because my cousin owned both at the time but the first system I ever did own was a PS1 and the very first game I played was Mario/Duck Hunt and the very first game I owned was Jumping Flash or something like that.
