Poll: How Do You Play (Part 3) Paragon vs Renegade

Pick your side. When you're playing do you often find yourself playing the good guy? Or do you like to release your inner rogue?

I always play good/paragon paths when I play the game for the first time around and on my next play-through, I go bad/evil/renegade path.

First time through is always a good guy, although I enjoy a game where there's a degree of ambiguity. For instance, I'll save your family in Fallout but I'll also steal anything that isn't nailed down if I think I can get away with it.

I always play the good guy on my first playthrough. If i play the game a second time then I'll try out the renegade path.

Leaning towards Paragon but not completely. I'll help everyone I can but have no problem killing someone who messes with me or mine just to make sure they don't try it again in the future.

I mostly play as the ones called the good characters. I suppose it is my Christian upbringing, which is based somewhat on Thomism. For those of you who are unaware, Thomism is the official stance of the Catholic church ever since they adopted the views of Thomas Aquinas on the deity of Christianity. That deity is one which is the form of the good which Socrates speaks of in the Republic. I continue to strive towards reaching the ideal that is good. However, what is interesting about video games is that, as a player, you have the opportunity to play the role of a variety of thinkers. Many of them view retributive justice as acceptable, so that common denominator is often found in games with choices of morality at the volition of the player. I do not always agree with this as an acceptable form of morality because of a better alternative (rehabilitative justice), so choosing paragon in games about violence may not always be what makes exemplifies a paragon, in reality.

I played the paragon on mass effect, when i realized you get punished for not going one way or the other. I'd would have preferred to mix it up, you know be a bada££ and a gentle heart when you needed to be.

Out of the two, I'll always go with Paragon... But I don't like it when games have good/bad guy paths, it forces your hand at every decision to pick the option suited to you playthrough.

I feel guilt doing bad things in games, it`s a bit ridiculous.

Paragon. I go Renegade mainly to see that side of the coin.

definitely paragon. it bothers me when i go renegade if i have a choice. Weird though cuz i have no problem playing gta 5

I'm so not the wholesome good/Jedi type in life yet when gaming this is the path I take. I've tried to go evil/Renegade yet just can't do it. Even when if I did it would finally mean getting all the achievements in a game I just can't. Ridiculous as it is it just makes me feel bad. Although in saying that I found out I have quite a few of the achievements that are considered to be those people inclined to be Sith lol

Paragade. Never full Renegade nor full Paragon.
