I like Gamespot just the same as I did before, Its a shame that some users of the site concentrate so much on one platform or game that they don't appreciate the richness and variety on offer.
Gamespot to me is more than just a place where I can read a review of a game I'm going to get anyway I like to use it to learn about the games and platforms that I won't have the opportunity to play myself and I also like the community involvement that comes from swapping story's and experiences that occur outside of video games.
If anything it's fanboys themselves that would push me from Gamespot, not the actual site itself.
Everyone one knew it was gonna get a less than perfect score. But people are kinda of mad about gamespot changing the review system, underscoring reviews(just a little, I don't think BioShock is perfect but i mean cmon, at least something a little higher), and (which is making LOTS of people ignoring this site now) not covering the Wii as much as the next gen games. We all know theres a lot more previews we should be seeing right now, so if GameSpot could just listen to the peoples voices, you'll make some people a lot happier(sorry for people that disagree with me).vgplayaDefinently, I hate the .5 scoring system. I also miss the little bars that measured section of a game.
why such a stupid question?
of course gamespot is relaiabe source of reveiw, they never always have your complete agreement. it feels that even though they are reveiwing it they really are just looking for the bad points in the game compared to other sites that are most likely being bought off by a gaming company to better their chances of selling off the game even more, i bet even GS does that often then never, its one of the ways reveiw sites make good money. and overall theres nothing like knowin if the game is worth buying than to see it yourself, trailer style!
Gamespot is the only site I really rely on for news/reviews/previews.
I will say that I preferred the older review system that they used. Sometimes a game isn't really a 7.5 but not really as high as an 8 either...
I wish they'd do .25's instead of the .5 system. But that's just a numeric thing that appeals to my brain more.
so basically... yes... I still LOVE Gamespot.
Gamespot is much more than just reviews and some people are bound to complain about change. (*remembers the site redesign*)
I'm happy with it or I wouldnt be here.
