iPods are expensive, but in the long run, well worth it. The user interface is neat and simple. After owning a Zen for many years and switching to an iPod, all I can say is how much more convenient it is. iPods also have a lot of features, with the only missing ones being a microphone and radio, which have been added to the 5th generation Nano, along with a video camera.
I don't really have an issue with the price of iPods, as I said, in case you didn't read that part >_>Their computers and things like the iPad though, Yeah... no.

You only said it was okay for ipod touches :x Nothing about the other models. So suck it*
Oh and yea, ipad is overpriced (as of now).
*Just kidding on the suck it part
I have a Droid X. Fantastic phone, especially as a phone. Voice quality and reception is great and the phone has excellent build quality (metal body which makes it feel very solid). It has Gorilla Glass, too!
Also, Swype > every other virtual keyboard. I can type my username with one thumb, without looking, since Swype doesn't require accurate swipes to get the correct word. It guesses based on the dictionary and the proximity of the swipe to letters. Works incredibly well.
Apple prices their products based on supply and demand and who can blame them? They're raking in a ton of money. You people would do the same thing if you were in Stevo Jobs' position to maximize products. Don't like their products? Don't buy them. If there's so many alternatives then Apple would be out of business by now, wouldn't they? Riiiiight. It's that simple and I'm not even close to being a fan of Apple's products outside of the iPod.AfterBurnerZ
First Highlight:
And that's the problem. You should see how badly the 4th generation iPod Touch was shafted in regards to upgrades purely for the sake of making the iPhone 4 look like the superior alternative and for one other reason I'll get to in a moment. The iPod Touch's camera is capped at 960 x 720 for taking still pictures and apparently upscales that to 1280 x 720 while capturing HD video so what you're seeing isn't even "true HD". Apple could very well have put the iPhone 4's sensor in the iPod Touch for this year (even without the flash) but instead, they decided to sacrifice function for sty-le and went for a thinner housing instead of making the damn thing just a little bigger so that they could fit a proper camera sensor inside of it. The camera isn't "bad" per se but it's certainly disappointing in comparison to the iPhone 4's 5MP camera. Not to mention the fact that the device ships with only 256MB of RAM compared to the iPhone 4's 512MB and an inferior IPS display. Still "retina" quality pixel density but terrible viewing angles by comparison. Read up on all of this and more here. I was dead set on getting a new iPod Touch until I read this and found out just how much better it could've been.Â
And for what? Well, that's simple. Profit. Lots of it. According to iSuppli, the 16GB iPhone 4 costs only $188 to build. This adds up to a meager profit if you're looking at the $199 price point that it's sold for through AT&T but you have to realize that Apple is receiving kickbacks and AT&T is massively subsidizing the price when people sign up for that 2 year contract so Apple is clearly making massive amounts of bank here. Considering the massive downgrade that the iPod Touch is in comparison to the iPhone 4, I would actually be surprised if the 32GB model cost Apple more than $150 to make and if so, it's making them a tidy 100% profit on each unit sold (minus retailer markup of course). Sure, the new iPod has the A4 processor and the display, while inferior to the iPhone 4's awesome display, is still top tier among media players but in comparison to what it could've (and should've) been, it's a massive disappointment. And, of course, no price drops this year...gotta keep that profit rolling in... This type of business practice is absolutely reprehensible as far as I'm concerned.
Second Highlight:Â
No, that's not necessarily the case. While the iPod Touch and iPad are virtually untouchable in the portable media player and tablet space (and for good reason, I wouldn't own an iPod Touch otherwise), that is not the case for the rest of Apple's MP3 players and it's been that way for years. The iPod Shuffle? Thoroughly and completely trounced by the Sansa Clip+. The Nano (especially this new one...ick)? The Sansa Fuze+ beats it in value and capability. The problem is, the market at large does not know this. They see Apple and automatically assume that they must be the best. Apple knows how to market their product to the casual buyer, not how to make a superior player in any area aside from the iPod Touch. So, why are they so successful at it if their products aren't that great? Well, chalk that one up to consumer ignorance. As far as their desktops and laptops are concerned, well, I'm pretty sure you all know how I feel in that regard...

No no I meant if there are so many alternatives, people would go out and buy those instead of Mac computers.
If you look at the Windows:Mac ratio it's true but their marketing and brand power are what leads them, I guess. You don't just magically conjure up a brand name as powerful as Apple and it takes time with *gasps* quality products. They're a niche product just like, say, a Ferrari or a Rolls Royce.
And curse you Game for that long response  I don't feel like typing that much to reply. :(Â

Well, there are plenty of Mac alternatives but, consumers don't see ads for Asus, HP or Lenovo laptops that often and Mac ads are fairly common. After all, you'll want to get an iPod to go with your shiny new Macbook Pro right? :P
I'm not saying that Apple's products aren't quality because, most of them are well made. What I am saying is that Apple products, on average, are more expensive than they're worth, at least in my opinion.

Pfft, this has nothing to do with your horrible taste in Hip-Hop and everything to do with the massive failure of a company Apple is. :)
By the way...
?
Cause you sound mad. :P
If he's mad, then the agries level is at a level .1 on a scale of 1 to 10 -- 10 being the highest. Musicalmac is tolerant to Apple bashing since he goes through the hatred every day (a lot of time because of my bashing  ), immunity builds up after a while... Now it's just another day at the office for him.
But I would be mad though if that song musicalmac posted was way superior than anything rap has ever produced. :)
One could argue that the fact Macs still exist is purely due to marketing. People have come to honestly believe PC's are slow and always get viruses (and that you HAVE to pay for virus protection, a notion I laugh at). It's hard for PC's to have marketing though, as there's so many brands. No no I meant if there are so many alternatives, people would go out and buy those instead of Mac computers.

Then again a Mac is a PC, but you get the idea.
But macs do also have a real market, like with image and video work (I believe). And for that, it's all perfectly reasonable for them to be successful in such a market for the purpose of the product itself, and not just the marketing of it.
