Dude, man, 3:17 in the muhfuggin AM?  Why aren't you asleep?

Oh, pot calling the kettle black, whatever, I just quit my job.  I do what I want now.  I DO WHAT I WANT.

In recent times, God of War.  God of War wasn't actually a great game, but it looked and most especially sounded like one; I couldn't believe what I was hearing when I played that game.

In ancient times, Star Control 2.  That game... oh, that game.

Planescape: Torment.

I wish Mark Morgan had done more than that, since he did a great job with Torment. I can think of a few more games that really could have benefited from his dark, surreal style.

Michael Hoenig (Baldur's Gate), and Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenosaga Ep. 1) are good too.

Morrowind had an amazing soundtrack, but its songs were too short. And I have a special love for the Zelda theme. Mjolnir Mix of the Halo theme is pretty good, too. I'm expecting the orchestral mix of the Halo theme (we got a hint of it in the Halo 3 announcement trailer) to be even better.

Original SNES's F-Zero always garners high regard in my eyes.  Ninja Gaiden 1-3 had amazing music for the time.

Castlevania, SOTN is always a classic.  LOZ: LTTP also classic.  Xenogears and Vagrant Story had amazing scores.  Shadow of the Colossus will always be a favorite of mine.

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/bladerunner/index.html?q=Blade%20Runner Please ignore the worst GameSpot score ever given to a game, ever. I'd have to put Blade Runner fairly high in my favourites, and especially in my favourite soundtracks. Probably because it uses the Vangelis soundtrack from the movie, which was highly depressing and; thus, set the mood very well. System Shock 2 also ranks highly, as does Baldur's Gate/Planescape: Torment.

BTW I like several songs, like the final level song in Ace Combat 4, if I were to choose one, it would be the Tekken series.

Nobody will agree, but I feel that the Jade Empire Soundtrack was the best I've ever heard in a game yet.

Final Fantasy VII has great music for each of its characters, especially since Uematsu has remixed it into full orchestral pieces for Advent Children. Also, GTA: Vice City had a great soundtrack, although it was just compiled, not composed by R* North.

Jet Set Radio Future's soundtrack is great. Katamari Damacy's soundtrack is just friggin' classic. Nothing tops it, IMO.

The Katamari Damacy soundtrack for being the only game music that I would listen to outside of a game.  Super Mario World, Mega Man 2, SotC, Super Metroid, and Metroid Prime get mentions.
