I'll be going off to college soon and when I take my computer I don't want to have to lug my 70-lb CRT behemoth with me so I'm in the market for a new LCD monitor. If any of you guys know of any good brands or models for LCD monitors then let me know.

My Dell monitor is pretty good. It's 19", but I'm not sure how much it costs because I got a free upgrade while buying my computer. Also, watch out for dead pixals, they are little b****es.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116381 It's a great moniter. I've used two, and I haven't had any problems. I don't know your price range though, so it might be a bit expensive.

I vowed to never buy anything from them again.

That one is nice but it is a little more then I wanted to pay. I'll have to look in to it.

Okay, if you shopped around a bit you could probably find it for $20-$40 cheaper.

This is the monitor I'm using now, it runs for $265 or so.  Its got a really fast response time (2ms), which is why I like it.

You'll have no help from me. CRT is my specialty, and they are still superior to LCDs in almost every way of the word.

Yeah, dealing with their customer service is annoying. But not worse then the way they trick you into the warranties >.> I actually almost got a free monitor. When we ordered our computer, we recieved an extra monitor, but no printer. So my brother called Dell up and he was like "our computer came in today, but instead of giving us a printer, you gave us an extra monitor". But, in fact, the printer was supposed to come in the next day...and since he told her about the monitor, they took it back >.>

Are you sure? Dell makes the best monitors. A grudge is no real reason to deny yourself happiness.

On a less philosophical note, stay the **** away from Princeton monitors. I'm using one right now (my father got it cheap), and it's miserably, appallingly, dreadfully bad. The colors suck, Morrowind blurs like high holy hades, and it gives me a headache.
