Hmm, I find myself listening to a lot of U2 and Tears for Fears...what growing up in the 80's does to you.

On the gaming front...probably Shadow of the Colossus, although I haven't really been listening to gaming tracks in awhile.

Jpop front...let's see..several Maaya Sakamoto songs, practically all of them are wonderful.

Rie Fu - Her self titled "Who is Rie Fu" album is solid. "Life is Like a Boat" is one of her best.

Chaba - I absolutely love this trio of musicians. They go against the norm in terms of pop. "Parade" is what put them on the map.

The hyperlinks are to the songs I happen to have stored

Kama151
I've heard of them, the "Life is Like a Boat" song especially. For JPop bands/people the ones I really like are: Asian Kung-Fu Generation Gact La'Arc-en-Ciel Porno Graffite (I just love the name) TM Revolution

Wading Venus, by Omid, feat. Nobody, off RJD2's awesome mix album, Constant Elevation: The Say Word Mix.  Pretty old, 2002, but RJD2 is RJD2, regardless.  You guys into his stuff?

Murs--And This is For, from his album, Murs 3:16, the 9th Edition.  Try and find this song on the interweb, it's totally different from most of the (trashy, vacuous) hip-hop they always play on the radio.  It's not about being that gangsta-killa-honeydip-pimpin' sociopath that you always hear about in rap songs... give it a try and listen to the lyrics!  Here's a taste.

Damn, times done changed, these thugs do what they like
Some of them be your friends to try to find a new 'wife'
And still hit the block and sling rocks at night
But you could be dead-wrong with your pockets right.

Contrary to what the legendary B.I.G. had to say
You don't have to sell drugs or make the NBA
It's easy to get a grant and get a M.B.A.
To achieve one goal there's more than one way
Young people, on a whole, we have lost our way
I don't care what it cost, I'm not impressed, my ****
That throw-back jersey is a dress, my ****
I remember diamonds used to be a girl's best friend.

Enslaving black children with those third-world gems;
I don't care about your rims;
Kids rock big-wheels,
Up until they learn balance,
And it's obvious you haven't,
With way more ego than you have true talent.
And this is for...

Dimension - Wolfmother. It's like Led Zeppelin meets Black Sabbath, except it's new. Great song on a great album.
