the game plays more like a AKSYS game than a Capcom game aka Guilty Gearish.

Not. Even. A little bit.

Guilty Gear is more skill than Street Fighter, it has far more aspects to the gameplay, its far harder to master them all. MvC is more like smash bros. People who play it act hardcore, but really they have no reason to.

I didn't say its as deep as GG but the game takes some stuff from GG like the air combos and other stuff.

I'm liking the game so far, though I'm not a big fan of the online portion. Can't ever connect to a ranked match (dropping me, not connecting, and sometimes taking me back to the main menu). Was able to get into a lobby, though without the ability to watch a match, it gets kinda boring.

10-4, good buddy! Guilty Gear and its ilk are fighting game versions of all-ins. They rely on a rush down mentality with a plethora of options, but the sheer fast paced nature of it keeps the game from maintaining a sense of balance. It essentially becomes a race of whom can overwhelm whom faster.

Street Fighter is a different story. The game leaves more open for varying play sty1es that allows players to control a match according to what makes sense to them. As a result, it opens the game up for character types to play various roles. There is no single approach to a character. The potential for generally forcing interesting reactions are greater here as well, mostly due to the nature of how Street Fighter handles things like startups, blockstun, hitstun, yata yata. Also, the strict nature of comboing in Street Fighter forces people to have a palette of options to select from when situations call for it, instead of forcing a situation where you try to throw your opponent into a combo loop that leads to huge damage that is needed to end matches. Combos are important in SF, but it is not as dominating an element as in GG.

What GG does, it does very well. However, it is also single-minded in it's approach. There is a reason why most people prefer SF as their fighting game of choice, and it is due to the game's ability to encourage a healthy balance of offense and defense.

Maybe at lower levels of play, but GG has a lot of defensive options too, RCs and FRCs play a bigger role in higher level play, while most matches may be a rush down of who can get in the most combos the fastest, 80% of my online SF fights are turtlers and hadoken spammers.

Street Fighter is a different story. The game leaves more open for varying play sty1es that allows players to control a match according to what makes sense to them. GG isn't as combo heavy as something like Blazblue and such though, its more of an inbetween, I will admit I exagerated, SF does require a more advanced level of play when one reaches the higher tiers, but I find GG more fun against low to mid-difficulty oponents, while SF I see a lot more of the same strategies, I can fight a few matches then watch some of the top players online and you don't see a huge changeup, I know there CAN be, but I find more variety in GG from the get go at lower levels of play.

Its not entirely true though, the single minded approach, some characters like Zappa and Johnny can spend a lot of a round preparing attacks, and benefit from more defensive sort of fighting. Some characters like Chipp need to go all out or he can die in quite limited amount of hits, but you have slower characters like potemkin too.

I admitted, I went overboard, I seriously don't even remember saying the thing about streert fighter quite honestly, but after about 5 years of GG, I do find the average match I've had more competetive and unique fights in comparison to SF, which I played for quite a bit longer. At tourny levels, SF is quite a bit more high level and intense, though some people like daigo are seriously boring to watch.
