Anybody else having a problem like this? I've kept immaculate care of the device. I had thought their was some special coating to prevent this?

No, not really. In fact, I'm having a hard time seeing it this morning. I was away from home and under bright lights when I noticed it. I'm tring to see it but I'm not finding a thing. I don't thing I was seeing things though. Okay I am going to make a new topic as a result of this.

Could be possible that you mistook streaked-oil smudges as hairline scratches. I remember freaking out thinking my iPad had the same hair-line scratches you described only to realize a little later that it was fortunately just smudges streaked across the screen that resembled hair-line scratches. *whew*

anyway, glad you don't notice them now.
