Mj you would be the best person to answer this, im seriously thinking about the G Tab 7.7 since its hit the price point of the nexus 7. What is the better device between the 2, i know the screen of the G Tab is superior, but the experience of both, which do you prefer. ( I believe the G Tab 7.7 now has ICS, so OS experiences should be similar.)mystic_knightNow that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 has ICS, it wins on all counts. The only thing that I prefer on the Nexus 7 is the rubber pack. The metal back of the Tab gets slippery after awhile of holding.
I got a Galaxy S3 on Friday. I wanted it when it came out, but when I tried it out at the VZW store, I hated it. I kept hitting the capacitive buttons, and the screen was really dim even after I messed with the brightness. It turns out the first time I tried it, it was a combination of bad lighting in the VZW store, and there were like three options for the screen in the browser, so even when I turned it all the way up, because of the option it was on it was still dim. So I had the intention of getting a Droid INC4G instead, despite the tiny screen. Well, people here convinced me to try the GS3 some more, and boy I am glad I did.Just so I could read it. :PThe screen wasn't pixelated at all, and it was beautiful. I came from a Droid X/X2, the latter which was REALLY bad as far as lag and screen quality goes. That is why I was so hesitant to get a GS3 because I knew it used pentile. The fact that it was a motorola screen is pretty much why the Droid X2 sucked so bad. Motorola screens are just garbage. I bought an original Incredible which I used for a week, and the screen was good quality, but it was just too small. I'm loving the GS3. I got the blue one because, even though I enjoy white gadgets, the white used on the GS3 looks pretty bad. I thought the blue looked really cool, not sure why people say it looks purple. It looks metallic. And I feel like the blue enhances the screen more than white does. Even though I hate how samsung uses that glossy plastic, it is really nice feeling on the GS3.
It just feels great, unlike past samsung devices. I tried the Nexus, but the plastic on that felt flat out terrible. I used the DINC4G, and I thought because of pictures, that it would have soft touch plastic, but it didn't feel like that. The lines on the back really hampered the feel of it, which stinks because the soft touch on the original incredible feels great. The DINC4G screen was sharp, but it was just too small for my giant hands. I love HTC Sense, and Beats Audio would have been great, but ultimately I'd rather wait for a bigger HTC device. I know I already said this, but I LOVE the design of the GS3, and the Pebble Blue is beautiful. I went for the 32 GB because I ripped some DVDs and have 13 GBs of music, and unlike apple who charges over $100 more, it was only $50 more, so it was a no brainer.
Unfortunately I now only have 2 GB a month for 4g, so I'll have to stick with wifi most of the time, which sucks if I have to go on a road trip and want to watch netflix. :/ If I had one complaint, it would be that the physical buttons (home, volume, power) are really mushy and feel fragile. I'm also scared that I am going to scratch the back of the device. I bought a screen protector, but I struggled putting it on, so I basically wasted $13. I wanted the flip cover, but Samsung is INSANE for charging $40 for it. The music app sucks, so I will have to pay for power amp, and I will also be buying Beautiful widgets to get the HTC weather/clock widget.
My battery has been really bad, so right now I tried a tip I read online that said to turn it off and charge it to 100%, so I am attempting that right now to see if it works. I've seen people get over a day, yet my phone dies after less than 8 hours. Something isn't right, because I listened to music for an hour and it went from like 58% to about 20%. I had a few glitches where the text under my apps turned into squares, but a reboot fixed that. I hope I don't have a lemon. :/ But overall, I want to thank the people here who convinced me to not go with the DINC4G. And the screen is NOT dim like I originally tried a few weeks ago, it is plenty bright, and no sign of the dreaded pentile! I Love this phone!!!! TonyDanzaFan
You made the right decision to go for 32GB as with 16GB version you only get 11.5GB which is really low for this kind of a phone. I hope you can solve those issues normally a factory reset can solve a major battery issue like you are having, if it doesnt then you got a bad one.

I certainly wouldnt call an ICS device as being "similar" in terms of software to a jelly bean device.
Also bear in mind that the G tab has better screen but it is bound to last less. While it is not nearly as big an issue on a phone since we dont use a phone for many years but I'll think a tab would be used for quite a long time.

Now that it has ICS, there's no notable difference in speed between the OS on the Tab 7.7 and the Nexus 7 - even if you use Touchwiz. However, some of the heavier games like Mass Effect do load quicker on the Nexus.

Honesty I find it hard to believe even a galaxy nexus got a big boost in overall system speed through jelly bean and thats around the same ball park as the G tab chipset wise. So we have same devices getting big boost with jelly bean it seems strange that a more powerful JB device wont be much faster than a less powerful ICS device.Try opening the multitasking list on both devices after some heavy usage pretty much every ICS device seems to have some lag there, none on JB.
Maybe samsung simply did a brilliant job porting ICS to g tab? That ofcourse very much possible.

Lol sorry, I was just so excited that I didn't feel like splitting it into paragraphs. I got my phone down to 15%, turned it off, then charged it to 100% a few times and I seem to be getting normal Verizon battery life. I asked the guy from phonedog, and he said out of all the GS3s, the Verizon one had the worst battery life. :/. I've had it on for over a day now, and it is at 39%, but I have barely used it. I mean, Its not even moderate usage, it's minimal usage. I pretty much just check the time and send a few emails and it goes down. I'd like to listen to music and check the web, but it's just not possible without it dying after a few hours. If anyone would know the difference comparitive wise, it would be MJ simply because he is a true aficionado in the mobile tech world. He has tried and tested most of the gadgets. and honestly i actually like the look of the GTab 7.7 much more than the cheaper looking nexus 7. and his reassurance on the quality of the device has set my thoughts in concrete. :( unfortunately no one has the G tab byt the time i came back here lol, waiting on more stock.mystic_knightI am not doubting his knowledge but you can read all the professional reviews as well they all say nexus 7 is easily the smoothest android tablet.
D you guys know what game this is? I can't figure it out. :(
I just saw it on a few promo videos for the Nexus 7, but none of them named it.
Edit: Nvm, it's Jett Tailfin Racers THD.

That was the best keyboard i had used on a smart phone since my dopod 838 pro.[QUOTE="mystic_knight"]Bought a HTC ChaCHa (Status in the US) i got it for $55 i rooted it after 2 hours :) took off all the facebook/twitter crap. Anyone interested in the new 32gb nexus tab with IPS display. Im hoping im free on that day, but knowing me im going to be busy, i will need someone to host a thread with all info if i can not do it.mystic_knightI thought the Nexus 7 already has IPS, or was that a redundant addition to your post? :P If the 32GB comes with 3G, I'll seriously consider getting it. I've been really impressed with my 8GB model, but only use it as a media consumption device around the home. It would be nice to have a larger one with internet for on the road.
I bought a motorola defy+ as i was getting sick of my chacha lol I rooted it and put cyanogen mod 10 in a total of 3 hours. World record root and cfw install ^_^ I overclocked my phones cpu to a 500mhz base and a 1.2 ghz max. Love android, in what world can you do this on an apple phone. Jelly bean on my defy+ LOLmystic_knightHaha thats awesome isnt it. :D
I've been lovin my Note 2 since I got it about three months ago.psx_warriorIts a great little tablet or big phone :P Probably Samsungs greatest achievement yet.
