Yeah, their defensive rankings blow, but guess what? Westbrook didn't put up crappy stats against any them. Peterson sucked it up against the Niners and Broncos, he had a 0.2 rush average against SF, that's disgusting. Oh and bringing up Reggie Bush is laughable, because Westbrook CAN run the ball well. Not as well as Peterson of course, but he's probably the best receiving back in the game in addition to his running ability. As it stands right now, Westbrook is the better player. Peterson will for sure pass him up if he stays healthy, which with his history, is not guarantee.

Steelers backup QB Batch breaks collarbone
Byron Leftwich
is scheduled to arrive for a workout today and possibly sign with the Steelers. Link

JackBurton
All the QBs that the Jags gave the boot are with the Jags top rivals. Gray is with Indy and Byron wants to work out with Pittsburgh? And lawl at Leftwich still not finding a job.

Pennington sign with Dolphins

Needless to say, it will be an interesting week one game

Thordain0011
Good signing for the Phins. Perhaps now I won't suffer as badly while riding the Parcells, Sparano & Ireland "bandwagon"... until Chad throws a few out-routes.

Really believed that Chad. P would be going to the Vikings.

I guess Miami wants to keep collecting QB's.

Steelers sign Leftwich over Culpepper

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed veteran QB Byron Leftwich to a one-year, $605,000 deal on Sunday, choosing the former Jaguars starter over Daunte Culpepper, a three-time Pro Bowl player.

The Steelers picked Leftwich over Culpepper because he felt more comfortable with the role the Steelers were offering. Culpepper is hoping for a chance to compete for a starting job. -The Associated Press

Huh, I would have thought that it would be Culpepper, who looked better last season. Next team to lose a QB should pick him up.

49ers sign former Pro Bowl LB Takeo Spikes

The San Francisco 49ers signed two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes on Sunday, hours after waiving former starter Brandon Moore.

Terms of the deal weren't available. Months ago, Spikes turned down a one-year, $1.5 million offer from the Lions, according to a source. Spikes is expected to start alongside Patrick Willis.

Leftwich doesn't mind being a back-up, while Culpepper wants to be a starter. Thats the difference. We all know Big Ben will be the starter in Pittsburgh.

So I'm watching the end of the Pack/Bengals game and they're talking about LSU/App. St. opening the year. Tirico mentions LSU doesn't have a proven QB then Jaws notes App. St. lost their QB too. Well Jaws, you're wrong, Armanti Edwards was a sophomore last year, so he'll be back, stick to the NFL.

I dunno about OLB. He seems a little small for a linebacker in the NFL.

Saints DT Hollis Thomas out 2 months with torn triceps. Link

I hope Sedrick is ready to play. As long as Brian Young and Kendrick Clancy stay healthy they can manage a decent rotation.

I prefered the WR pass from Hines Ward to end the Seahawks dream of ever winning a Superbowl.

How about when Mason got tackled a yard short by the Rams? The Titans only shot at winning a SB came up a yard short, talk about dramatic and heartbreaking.

Bengals re-sign WR Chris Henry

Chris Henry signed a two-year deal Tuesday with the team that let him go after he was arrested for the fifth time, a decision that seemed to mark a change in philosophy for owner Mike Brown. Coach Marvin Lewis, who had no interest in bringing back the troubled receiver, said Brown wanted to give Henry yet another chance.

The signing helps the team but raises questions about its commitment to holding players accountable for their actions. Henry must serve a four-game suspension from the NFL -- his third such punishment -- before he can fully rejoin the team.

Yay Redskins and Giants got injuries to their star players! yay! not that I wish other people to get hurt or anything just good news to me that Jason Taylor got a little tiny injury and Osi umeniyoiroasoiduoiasdaodis got, from what I see from ESPN, a season ending injury.

Also is Matt Leinart a bust? Kurt Warner seems to be the starting QB in the Cardinal's eyes.

It's every player's dream to retire after a SB win. The Giants should respect that.

That's great news. Now my fantasy team will be without him only one week. Also, now I'm pissed I didn't take him in the union league when I was going to.
