I don't know
While I like the game one of the reasons it sold so much was because there wasn't much of anything else to choose from. Also it did horribly in Japan, that's not a great sign of another one coming soon.
As for it being in a lot of other games, I think that's the same way Mr Game and Watch was in a game.

There's a difference between Mr. Game and Watch and a game that would benefit PERFECTLY with motion controls.
This just in, Nintendo to announce Super Mario Sunshine 2 at E3 because of the inclusion of Delfino Island and FLUDD in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Now doesn't that just sound stupid.

What other Wii games have featured it?

not sure, the only other game I can think of is Mario Kart DS.
[QUOTE="toadster101"]Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Mario Galaxy ( you know it's true ), Mario Power Tennis, Mario Super Sluggers, Mario Hoops, *insert generic Mario spin-off here*Jaysonguy
So nothing else on the Wii
Explain to me why JUST games on the Wii seem to matter to you? So they use it so much it's hard to find any examples?
Well that's sure won me over.

How many Mario spinoffs are on the Wii? If you're going to be a jerk, go to system wars.Mario Baseball uses it, and you can see the reference in SMG. I mean, Mario rescues Luigi from a generic haunted mansion. Coincidence? I think not!toadster101
There has been a haunted level in every Mario game. Sunshine had one, 64 had one, even Super Mario World had one.
And Mario Sunshine has been referrenced in Brawl as well (Isle Delfino is a level, and Mario even uses FLUDD, so there are 2 referrences there), but we all know we're not going to see a sequel of that.
I'm not saying we for sure won't see a Luigi's Mansion 2, I'm just saying that I think you might be owing a lot of people money come E3.

You didn't rescue Luigi from a haunted mansion in those games, did you?

Oh my God, a very vague reference! Everybody, LM2 = Confirmed!!!
I think there was a ghost hunting level in Mario Party 8 too, not sure though.
I would love it if Nintendo announced Luigi's Mansion 2 at E3, I loved the game.
Sheesh. A lot of you are being just plain rude.wiretoss
Of course! It's like "Attack of the fanboys" here.
There's more than just "one vague" reference throughout the past couple of years.toadster101
Ok, I never said there was "one vague" reference to Luigi's Mansion in Nintendo's games, I said that in Mario Galaxy there was a vague reference. And it is just a vague reference, as Nintendo is known to call back to older games for fan service. I mean, FLUDD is in Galaxy as well: LINK
Actually, it's in a bunch of other games, too.
So let's see here...
FLUDD in Galaxy? Check.
FLUDD in Brawl? Check.
FLUDD in WarioWare: Smooth Moves? Check.
FLUDD in Mario Power Tennis? Check.
FLUDD in Mario Kart Arcade? Check.
So...that means that Sunshine 2 = Confirmed?!?
See how that sounds rediculous? You're just jumping to conclusions. That's all it is. No "attack of the fanboys" here...
Sorry to burst your bubble.
20 Bucks says I'd rather see Paper Luigi (with gameplay more like Thousand Year Door of course)KevComesRipping
I have an even better idea. How about a Thousand-Year Door spin-off game in which you play as Luigi on the quest that he wrote about in his books? Nintendo could even include situations that didn't happen in the books, or even contradicts what he wrote, for the sake of humor. I would buy that in a heartbeat.
Of course, it would also play like Thousand-Year Door did.
well, if you ask me, IMO luigi's mansion sucked ok, it SUUUUUUCKED
i wouldnt want a sequel for a simple repettive boring game with a real lame story, but thats my opinion

That's kinda what I was getting at, they probably wouldn't go so far back for a reference to another game, alot of people (younger kids more importantly) might not get the jokes and the references to the first game
