Great nominations overall, but I would like to see Prime Trilogy as a best shooter nomination.

Best Music Game: Beatles Rock Band
I picked this game because if the great production quality and solid set-list. While most rhythm games have a wide assortment of genres to cater to many people, that also guarantees you'll have songs that you despise with every fiber of your being(Guitar Hero setlists are very up and down(Sex Pistols and Sonic Youth can eat **** and die!). Although you must like the Beatles to some degree, I find it more accessible for everyone to play due to it's strong range of style despite all songs coming from one band.
Playing with other online is easy and the difficulty is friendly but can be somewhat difficult unless you can play Dragonforce on Expert in your sleep(which may turn off some). With downloadable content, cool Beatles sound bites during load times as well as unlockable video content, I've enjoyed Beatles RockBand more than any other "guitar/band" game.
[QUOTE="starmetroid"]Were is Metroid Prime trilogy? I know isn't necisarily new but it was still one of the best pieces of software this year.nini200Totally agree I'm a bit torn on this one. It is a great piece of software, but I feel that it is a little like nominating NPC Pikmin for an award. Great game, but it's already had its time to shine, you know? I don't know, I guess its still up for debate.
We can suggest categorys right?
Best Puzzle game:
A Boy & His Blob, You, Me, and Cubes, Tetris Party, Boom Blox Bash Party.
I think A Boy & His Blob falls more under a platformer than a puzzle. I think this is the general feeling on this game. Also, Tetris Party came out in 2008, so we're left with only two nominees. Throw me a few more and I'll put it up though.People need to play F1 2009. It's a semi-realistic arcade racer thatrequires real driving skill. Easily one of the best, if not the best, racing games on the Wii.
Madworld shouldn't be a best 3rd party nominee
Modern Warfare Reflex should be
Great FPS with the best online in any wii shooter
It even scored 1 point higher on gamespot, is easily selling better, is a better package overall, and its got much more AAA than madworld (i think)
Yeah, the best overall third party game category needs some work. I'm gonna wait to work on that one until after Silent Hill though, because I'm pretty convinced that it might deserve a spot up there from what I've seen and read. But it might turn out to be crap too.... I haven't played Reflex, but almost everyone on these boards seems to love it. It almost definitely deserves a spot in that category, I'm just not sure about replacing Madworld for it, especially after Madworld just took the Best Action Game title. Perhaps it should take the spot of The Conduit?Madworld shouldn't be a best 3rd party nominee

For best 3rd party game, I'd suggest:
1. Tiger Woods PGA 10
2. Little King's Story
3. Madworld
4. Modern Warfare Reflex
5. Silent Hill, or Muramasa if it ends up disappointing.
Others: Boom Blox Bash Party, A Boy and his Blob, Dead Space Extraction
Hope this helps!:D

Arc2012
Yes. It should take Conduits spot
It is sad that yes, a port is better than a wii built game guys, but it is the truth
Does Conduit have an AAA review? Reflex has a good amount and a MC average review that is nearly 10 points higher than Conduit
If theres any shooter to get for online or at all on wii other than MPT, it is MWR

i'm gonna change it a bit with mine
1. Tiger Woods
2. LKS
3. Modern Warfare Reflex
4. Muramasa
5. Boom Blox Bash Party
(if Silent Hill is really good i say it replaces Muramasa)
As far as 3rd party nominees, we can't forget Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers
But it comes out really late

Oh yeah, I guess I was pretty much regarding Christmas as the end of the year.:)
Glad you agree with most of my list. I'm not a huge fan of Madworld either, yet it seemed to be pretty popular.

I went a bit with both of you guys on this one. Changed the nominees to:
Tiger Woods, LKS, CoD:MWR, Madworld, and Boom Blox. With Silent Hill as a replacement for Madworld if indeed it is the case that it is just stellar. All the games on that list are still up for debate though, so don't think this is the final list.
But, just so you guys know what I was thinking, I took off the Conduit because it really seems that CoD has done everything that it was trying to do, but better. It isn't getting the extreme love it or hate it thing that the Conduit was getting either which makes it actually stand a chance.
As far as Muramasa goes, the fact is that it has already lost out to Madworld once. And I know I told someone else that these categories aren't really brackets, but it does seem rather strange to keep Muramasa up there agaist Madworld since it'll probably just lose again. It seems also strange to put it up there instead of Madworld since the Wii forum community has already spoken on its place, which is a respectable 2nd.
couldn't really decide between Tiger Woods and PES, but went with PES cos I rightly thought the majority would vote for the Tigger.
(For best Virtual Console Game):
Majora's Mask was the only game I've played out of those on my Wii, so that gets my vote.
didn't play the rail shooters
But MWR beats TC in all areas
Such a better all around game
let alone the online is far superior and well, it actually gets updates to fix issues that are ruining TC
Isn't MWR also the highest rated of all those this year on gamespot? or is something above it?
Yeah, its sitting on an 8.5. Extraction and Overkill both have 8's though. But on Gamerankings, Extraction is leading the pack.didn't play the rail shooters

darth-pyschosis
none of the shooter candidates offer as much depth as MWR
8-10 hour single player, replayable difficulties, arcade mode (so it is on rails too!)
Endless Online multiplayer with loads of modes and dozens of maps
Perks, and deep online along with a great single player experience, it can't be beat
i only fear the fact that it recently came out will give it short comings in the poll
DSE has a 2 month advantage on it and more users here may have experienced it
if you're into shooters where you can actually move your character, MWR is the choice
if you liked guided experiences, then i guess go for the others
