I think the next 2D metroid should have the new game with Super Metroid. Thet way we have a new game and a port.

What do you think should be in the next Metroid game?

From what I hear a loosely based remake of Super Metroid is in the works, its rumored to be Metroid: Other M.

If anything, I want Project Dread to resurface for the DS. Retro said the game is complete....

As long as it's 2D, sidescrolling, and follows the Super Metroid formula. I'll be happy.

Maybe they could come up with a design that involves using both screens of the DS at the same time. Perhaps through a cooperative multiplayer element? Or an option to switch between bounty hunters in different locations? I don't really know.

retro also said it never existed, and many other things were said about it. you're confusing the prime 3 teaser "project dread nearing completion" scan to a true fact. besides, why you want so much a game you dont know absolutely ANYTHING about? not even a screenshot to see it. if it's fun like zero mission, i'm buying it. remake or not.

The project as a whole existed which means all the speculatory facts about the game that IGN, 1 up and other sources provider were most likely true which was it a traditional 2D sidescrolling Metroid.

Here's on of the most recent ackknowledgement reports from Yoshio Sakamoto, the lead director of the Prime series.

Longtime Metroid director Yoshio Sakamoto acknowledged that the long-rumored Metroid Dread is real and may some day be released.

sure. it's a metroid game, and it exists(ed). and it (may be) released. now why all the hype? all the rest is just speculation. most of it from IGN *cough*kidicarus*cough*
