3DS and the backwards compatibility experience

I wouldn't be turning to anyone for insight if Nintendo would make it easier to choose the DSi or XL over the 3DS, what with the XL being the same price even! But who here bought a 3DS and realized the best games for it they already had owned for some time? How does the 3DS fair as a BC tool? Does the resolution scaling ruin the experience?

People overreact about blurry DS games. It's barely noticeable and you can easily adapt to the change of resolution.

The only weird thing I find in the 3DS when it plays DS games is that in some screens, the touch screen flashes (I notice it a lot during loading screens). Does anyone else have this? I wonder if its related to the power save function.

I suppose most criticism comes from those who are very used to the DS screen and immediately notice the blurryness. Being that I havent own a DS in quite some time, I might just bite the bullet and put my money towards something future proof. Still wish Nintendo would reduce the price of the DS soon though.

Never owned a regular DS and coming from that perspective, I have not had one iota of trouble playing DS games on my 3DS.

The tinny screen isn't THAT small. I mean I can still read the text of stuff when I play them in there native resolution.

I don't really notice that much of a difference. You kind of forget about that while you're playing. Graphics never bothered me in a game. It's the gameplay and story that counts.

I've been playing my DS games on the 3DS, & the only differences I notice are the black bars & it's brighter then the DS system.

The blurryness wont be apparant to someone who hasnt played a DS before, so it doesnt really affect anything.
