Just curious but do the 3ds's buttons wear out? Back when i owned a NDS i played Mario kart, Pokemon and other games that need the A button. Eventually the button wore out and hardly works and now I have to press the A button really hard or else the system can't pick it up.

Mine are good as new after a year and a couple hundred hours game time.

The buttons are still good as new. Heck, my ds phat, which has probably gottn thousands of hours of play on it still has a perfectly working touch screen and buttons. The speakers crackle on it occasional though. The dsi has to be the least durable of all the ds systems. Plastic feels cheap and my sister's got scratched up easily. The 3ds seems very durable to me compared to the dsi. Can't comment on ds lites or dsi XLs.

Pretty much this. Buttons are much better than the DS Lite's, which I had similar problems as TC's with.

The L/R buttons will eventually die. Just ask the DSi about it.

My ds phat's l and r work just fine even after metroid prime hunters. The 3ds's seem slightly better than the ds lites and much better than the dsi's

My launch system buttons feel the same as my brother's brand new system buttons.

I was just refering to the DSi. The DS phat R/L buttons are excellent.

They're one of the few parts of my 3DS that feel as good as the new one I picked up for my girlfriend. So other than their ridiculously small size I have no worries about them lasting.

Any idea about the 3ds's l/r buttons? They seem durable but idk.

Mine is doing well so far. Only problem I'm having is a scratched up top screen due to it hitting the bottom screen when I close it...

The only button I've worried about is the control stick when I have to quickly press it in a direction to make Pit dash. It probably won't hurt it, but it brings back memories of how rough the old Mario Party games were on N64 controllers.

I haven't had any of the buttons wear out on me just yet. Which is a relief because I remember the R button on my dsi crapping out

My DS Lite's A,R and L buttons don't seem to function as much as when I first got it.One of the hinges broke when I just stepped out the room and back for a moment which is kinda weird. My DSi's L and R buttons are getting that way also but the other buttons are fine ...just hope that when I do purchase a 3DS that I don't have any of these problems

My buttons are all just fine. Only thing that bothers me is the slippery circle. Ugh, why couldn't Nintendo just make those replaceable...

This I had to get by Ds light fixed and then eventually they died again... so i still have a broken DS lite that cant play any game that uses the L and R buttons... If this happens to the 3DS I will RAGE....

My 3ds is perfect a year later. Though I probably don't log anywhere near the hours some of you do.

Ive had my mine for a year. And the buttons are still good. My circle pad is a little looser but in a good way. My circle pad was too stiff when I got it.

The circle pas has marks from my nails in it, so the circle pad is probably the least durable part

My DSl from four years ago is still perfect, well looked after but also well used. Thats why I bought the 3DS, you know you can trust Nintendo. No regrets.

I had to send mine in for repairs because the R button quit working. Other than that I haven't had any problems.
