3DS topics are drowning the DS board.

Good grief, when are we going to get a forum for the 3DS?

It's taking away too much discussion for the DS.

I could understand this back before E3, when it was all just rumors, but this isn't fair for the DS, right when DQ9 and Golden Sun are coming out.

The DS board was pretty dead before and now its the most active I've ever seen it

I would like to point this out: The DS, DSi, 3DS forum is available for you to discuss the games and the handhelds.

And the mods have said there won't be one, and to ask in site feedback why if you want answers. But even there, I have yet to see an anwser to that question besides no.

I'm glad that there is this much love for the 3DS.8)

The 3DS deserves a forum as much as the next Nintendo console, PS4 or Xbox #3. You sure the mods didn't mean that there wont be a 3DS forum - yet? They'll need one when it's out.. Or just rename this the 3DS forum and move the DS discussions to the legacy platforms forum..

They should either get rid of the pokemon discussion thread or make one for the 3DS.

From a thread in site feedback, the admins apparantly decided they will never make a 3DS board, or rename this one, since the 3DS looks like a DS and has the word DS in it.

I'm not really seeing the logic in this decision. But it appears the mods will only go far enough to say they have been told there won't be, and then they lock the topic so we can't actually ask them for a real answer.

I find that explanation quite stupid. The 3DS may look similar, but the hardware inside is considerably different from the DS. You cant even compare the 2. At least change the DS to 3DS. Its not that hard. I bet you all they have to do is change a bit of text. They are making it seem as if they have to overhaul the site.

This was my thought exactly. All of the Pokemon talk gets buried in a sticky but 3DS posts are allowed to run rampant. I would imagine they would either sticky both or let both run free. I would rather both run free. I hate stickied threads.

I don't think there is a need to create a separate board for the 3DS. I mean the 3DS is still part of the DS family after all.wilford88

I made a topic on the matter in the site enhancements section. Maybe it'll get some attention if you guys drop a few replies in there.

There is never going to be a DS and a 3DS board. One day the DS board will be gone and there will be a 3DS one.

From what we're being told right now that's not going to happen either. The DS board is just going to stay around. It makes absolutely no sense... it's like if they had kept all the 360 posts in the original Xbox forum.

You can't really look at it that way. DS Lite and DSi were just revisions to the DS. Analogous to the Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Color. The 3DS is Nintendo's next generation handheld. At the very least it should get its own board towards the release date.

You don't give the nex gen console a board until near release.

3DS topics aren't that bad, and its to be expected. A better question is, why not make this the 3DS board and move the DS into Legacy Platforms?

Why? Well you shouldn't coz the DS isn't quite done but it has probalby 2 years left, it'd be too early, just like its too early to give the 3DS its own board.

Both platforms must co-exist for the moment in this board. You don't have read all the 3DS threads. And you can start your DS-related thread discussions.

Its too soon to take action and move DS to legacy or make a whole board for 3DS.

Yes. The difference between the 3DS and the Dsi, Dsi XL is that the 3Ds is the next generation for Nintendo in the handheld department. The Dsi and XL were rehashes. Hell, the 3DS even has separate games coming out for it. Just pretend it doesn't have the "DS" init's name and you will understand.
