I just got my Wii HD component cables and I am curious of which games go to 480p. I have noticed that Madden looks better but along with Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart is still running at 480i. So what games will go to 480p? I know that Metroid will but I have never been a Metroid fan and am looking for a game that I will enjoy and can see what type of graphics the Wii is capable of in its fullest. Thanks.

Turn the Wii to 480p instead of 480i

I have. And made it widescreen. Am I just not noticing a difference then? If so I might take these cables back. 40 bucks for no difference is a pretty big waste of money

the cables on super mario galaxy and mario kart dont have a difference, but realistic games like MOHH2 and any other EA sports title does make a difference. dont return the cables they work and are worth every penny, just be patient and wait for the newer games, they will all be in 480p.

p.s. try first person shooters and other realistic looking games, i find it works best on NBA live 08.

p.p.s why were your cables so expensive? i picked up mine for 12 bucks at walmart

Ok if it does make a difference I'll stick it out. Not sure why my cables were so expensive but I did get the official Nintendo cables so if you got a third party cable that could be why. Thanks

I also got the Nintendo component cables, for $35. I heard they were the best. Some games look really jaggy, like RE4, but some others look better, like SSBB.

Nearly all Wii games run in 480p. The jump from 480i to 480p gives the picture more crispness. There is a difference however, though only minimal. Compared to the cables the Wii comes with, 5x better. And it looks best with plasma screens.
