2011 is finally over and it's been a crazy year for the 3DS. The system first launched back in March and the months following it's release we've seen the 3DS not performing to the expectations Nintendo had set, even with the release of Ocarina of Time 3D. Then came the game-shaking price cut and Nintendo's first annual profit loss in threedecades! This lead many to believe that Nintendo would go 3rd-Party or even go bankrupt as a company...but this was not to be the case. Fast forward to the release of Monster Hunter 3G, Mario Kart 7, and Super Mario 3D Land; the 3DS proved itself to be the dominate force in the handheld market. Now 3DS sales have been skyrocketing with 12 million sold worldwide with half of that coming from the past two months!

Let's look at what 2012 has to offer the 3DS :)

Paper Mario 3D

Resident Evil: Revelations

Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance

Kid Icarus: Uprising

Animal Crossing 3D

Luigi's Mansion 2

Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater

Mario Tennis 3D

Tekken 3D: Prime Edition

Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle

Monster Hunter Tri G

JAPANESE RELEASES

Beyond the Labyrinth

Fire Emblem: Awakening

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy

Fantasy Life

Time Travelers

Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney

Monster Hunter 4

Will we ever get MH: Tri G in the West, I don't see the point of not bringing it out here in Europe.

I just got the dates from Wikipedia so it might not be accurate but it's a possible timeframe

considering how much the game sells and that it's already been localized before I would say that it's highly likely we'll see Western releases

I beleive there is a good chance of Both MH: 3G and MH4 both coming to the west, though I highly doubt it will be in the same year.

It's kinda crappy that my most anticipated titles are mostly coming out in Japan only (as of now, until otherwise confirmed). Paper Mario will definitely come out world wide and Kingdom Hearts was already confirmed for it. Tales of the Abyss comes out next month in North America as well, so I'm looking forward to that.

I think most of those will be released in the US, I'm not sure about 3G though. I think Time Travelers and Fantasy Life are the least likely.

I think you're right, which sucks because I really really want Fantasy Life.

I'm kinda worried about Tekken 3D edition. We haven't got much information about it from Namco... :|

Ouch, very sad you did not put Rune Factory 4 up there. Looks like the 3DS is going to take up a lot of my money next year. Most of the games there i'll get day one.

Going to be a great year for the 3ds. I can see this year as the start of the 3ds dominance over it's competitors. Also, PAPER MARIO!!

If Animal Crossing and Paper Mario even come out in 2012. Seems like Nintendo doesn't care about them at all anymore.

What about Heroes of Ruin? It's hands-down the most anticipated game of the next year for me.

What makes you say that? They've care enough not to bring their release dates forward. They've cared enough to spice up Animal Crossing as much as they've shown so far. They've cared enough to reintroduce classic elements of Paper Mario that the series' fans had missed. Just because they've not said anything recently, it doesn't mean they've been forgotten about.

Every time I see those Resident Evil Revelation screenies i'm just astonished at how brilliant those graphics are. It looks like it will be (visually) the best game on a handheld to date.

No need to argue all of that. I am very excited for both games, but I say they don't care about them because it's getting frustrating how they announced both titles back in E3 of 2010, but they still don't even have a vague release date. Yet, first party games that get announced months, even a year later, get released immediately.

It's just annoying, because those two games were the games I was the most excited for from the beginning.

Fair enough, but i'm sure they'll be worth the wait. They'll have been in development for much longer than Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7, so you'll know they'll have had great care and attention.

Heros Of Ruin,me thinks this game will be underrated. along with rune factory and a few others. i hate seeing some of the greatest games out there slip under the radar due to lack of advertising. 3 on 3 hoops was one of those titles as was luminous arc series. hoping there will be an American release on Ambition+Pokemon,FE:Awakening,MH3G,Luminous Arc 3 and some word on PKMN GREY.
