A New Zelda Idea

Its most likely been said before, but a post-apocalyptic setting. The world is in ruins, Hyrule castle is destroyed, and Bandits and thiefs have taken over the world, ravishing the countryside and its surviving inhabitants. Link and Zelda both survive the destruction, and set off to try to save the world from the bandits. (the leader could be Ganondorf, or someone entirely new) You could travel to the surviving colonies and through wastelands and ruins. It has a lot of holes, but wouldn't it be pretty cool if they could do it?

Another idea (relating to a totally different storyline) is a beach place. Like sand and the ocean and a cliff and no land beyond the sea (as far as you can see). I would like that

No your not the only one but I dont want it on the consoles. Its perfect for the DS and handheld style but I think a darker direction for the consoles is where it is at for Zelda. Not to mention the whole dungeon formula REALLY needs a mix up.

now that would be awesome, ganon getting used in a zelda game. The ruins idea was great.

How do you think a dark zelda will look like?

1) I liked the April Fool's joke from last year about Zelda in a futuristic setting.Something like that could very well work. 2) Get away from Hyrule 3) A different villain than GanondorfTheLordMagnus

I like the post-apocalyptic idea, I think that would be pretty awesome.

Also, I think it would be cool to be able to play as Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf. I think that this next Zelda will be going into a darker direction.

I think they should go the Majora's Mask route and do something different storywise. No Ganon, no Zelda, no Hyrule... a new world, new enemies and some bizarre scenario. I don't want Zelda to go M-rated, though.

i mean... didnt the hyrule king tell link and zelda to start their new land or whatever?am ybe thats what they were gonna do in phantom hourglass and then that stupid ghost ship took tetra/zelda.

i dont care what story it has even if its in the future but i just want a dark zelda game thats rated mjude11

That will never happen. I can't imagine Nintendo going with Zelda in that direction. Twilight Princess is as dark as its going to get.

Why? It wouldn't be the same. It would wreck it. U don't have boomarangs now etc. Why change so much in a great series?

I know their would be many opposers to this... but think of MGS.

but imagine link in a ruined newer age world. Something that looks like "I am legend" where everything is broken down. And link, who is in his 40's, oldish (not old but rugged look) and well built. anyways their is some plot, and he fights things with his sword (many things have guns, some swords, or other stuff). but still i think an older version of link would be pretty sweet.

there are alot of dumb wii owners / zelda fans forget is that the whole game is just a legend. Check on youtube for windwaker videos...actually

its just a legend. Darkness comes and some green dude saves the day. This passes on as legend cos humans like forgetting. Cos this is a lgend it can happen at anytime. Right now nintendo focused on medival times.

But ninty could if they want make it for the future/modern or near modern times. I doubt ninty will do medieval i mean its been done a zillion times!!!

And then in the end the elders stop time just as someone stabs link in the heart.And then time rewinds to before hyrule is in ruins and then you stop ganon before he destroys hyrule!!!!!!!!!!TheAcejoel99

And as I just beat Wind Waker (This time with all 20 hearts), I'd like to see where they can take the open seas, what happens after Link and Tetra make their new kingdom.

You're most certainly not the only one. I'd love a Wind Waker-like Zelda -- just ramp up the game time and difficulty and I'd be one happy camper.
