All it means take out the walking & cut straight to the running, or start with a little of slow movement & gradually pick up as you press forward. Atacking done without the D-Pad. There is the basic side to side, up & down attacks. The smash attacks can still be done by using the D-Pad & the attack button at the same time. Instead of using the up button to jump, use the x button to jump. They could use the R button for guard/shield and thenside to roll & L for grabing opponent. And button taps for combos &/or side stepping. And then learn from Brawl's online problems & shave around for the portable version. All this can be done with a little of common sense.

again people ar forgetting about tilt attacks! if you wanted to do a quick tilt attack, it wouldn't work, and running right away is not always good because you have to do a dash attack, so it just wouldn't work, a SSB for the DS WON"T WORK!

It doesn't need to be perfect, but it still can be done. And there hasn't always been a quick tilt attacks, but since the Y button hasn't been brought up, it could be used for that (btw, I've haven't forgotten it, I just don't much care for it). Like I said, it all can be done, it just requires changing some of the formulas on thecontrolling a little.

Yeah, it doesn't need to be exactly like it's predecessors in order to be good.

I don't think it would be worth the time and money to make something not-so-great where everyone will complain about the controls, lagging, and character limitations.

We don't need one on DS. The other SSBs are epic enough to cover the DS without even touching it.

i completely agree. no one plays smash bros for the single player, so it just doesnt make sense to place it on a console that is primarily single player focused

EDIT: lol, i guess i hit 4000 yesterday without knowing it

I disagree, it'll be an epic DS Game. I'm sure it'll be better then Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, it didn't quite live up to the hype of the first outside of Japan (a.k.a. Blazing Sword)& the Sacred Stones, but it still turn out pretty good. But still yet, with Nintendo's all-star game to be made in the palm of your hand, any technical flaw can easily be over looked & merely trifle, if done correctly & evenly. If they can get the main basics of brawling controls down pack, that's all we'll really need.

Besides, some sacrifices most be made so it'll be more properly formated for the DS/DSi. Either way, Nintendo really should maketheir ownall-star game for the DS.

Btw, if Square can make KH 358/2 Days multiplayer, which it has never been done before (though there is Chain of Memories, but it's limited to just 2 players & ain't much that can be done), I'm sure Nintendo can do the same.
