If you haven't already found out, the Wii is getting a new headbanger headset, designed to be a better alternative to Wii speak.
link here
In the article in the link, it says
"The Headbanger® Headset is designed to optimize communications during Wii online gaming sessions. When used with Wii games that support voice chat, players will be able to send voice messages, converse online, and talk simultaneously in real time. One of the first titles to support the new headset is Sega's Conduit 2, a science fiction military FPS with co-op and competitive online multi-player game play. "
Now the part that makes me interested is the "When used with Wii games that support voice chat", so that hopefully means that it will work with all Wii games that support Wii speak. Some people worry that it won't support enough games, or it will only be a one time thing, but since this company had been making Nintendo DS headsets for a while, and Nintendo allowed these guy's to make this headset and it looks pretty official, and if I didn't know better it looks official nintendo. So I would think that they would be smart enough to make it so it is compatible with all Wii speak games, or atleast compatible with all Wii speak games after it's release anyways. The Wii speak has barely been used, but hopefully after this headset comes out there will be more voice chat for the Wii.
big article about the headbanger headset here
On to another thing. Apparently, a special headset(Article here)for the game Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released by Mad Catz. Now the sentence
"Mad Catz expect to ship two all-new TRITTON powered Call of Duty: Black Ops Pro-Gaming Headsets, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii video game systems and for PC."
It could be just an error, but I doubt that they would make such a serious error and they specifically said Wii, unlike Assasins Creed 2 where it was rumoured it was coming out for Wii because the developers said it would come out for every console, but it was just an error. It would make since considering that Treyarch wanted to make Black Ops for Wii a true console experience and similar to the other versions in almost every way (besides controls of course). This also is a confirmation that the game has voice chat, which is nice for all shooter fans. Hopefully this headsetsupports all wii speak compatible games. In the article it also show's wiimotion spots for the new controller covers, so possibly the game might have have Wii motion plus support.
I got the Call of DutyHeadset/motion plusinfo from the Call of Duty Black Ops Wii forum herefrom Aile_wing
