How old are you owners of this new system. It seems as though we are going to be seeing more M rated games on this than on the DS. Is Nintendo trying to attract a wider audience? I am all for diversity.

I am 36. I really do not see the point of asking the age of users as gaming should not be determined by age.thom_mayteesBut then marketing departments would erupt in chaos as no one would have demographic data to design business models on! :o
Just a curiosity question. I'm 30 myself. It just seems as though there will be a more diverse lineup for this than the DS. I even saw that Sega wants to do House of The Dead and an Aliens game. I know it is not the rating of the game that matters, it is the quality.
35.
I don't see what rating has to do with if a game will be good or not. I have and play games of all ratings.
As for the M rated games I think nintendo planned to make a few anyways since there aren't that many compaired to say games for the xbox and playstation, so nintendo wants to appeal more to all ages of gamers. and seeing as the 3ds is catered more towards adults they are looking to make and release games that would catch the adult eye ... inturn sales would go up... think about how many have said they have an issue with the launch games, well nintendo heard what people were saying and inturn said hmm we need to make all ages happy.. therefore wham new games being made for all ages.
24 and ya i saw that comment sony made, well guess what sony for being arragant! im not buying any more playstation ya thats right your on notice
this starts gen 8 and up the 3ds is awsome how will ngp even compare to this with just beefed up graphics and same titles as psp , lol ---ya sony lost me , nintendo always was good ,
people just dont give them respect where its due ,
and they take nintendo for graNTED
while they play the power game nintendo is innovating the industry moving it forward sony has the ball? ya game informer thats a load of garbage right there, sony lost the ball when they took so long to announce a ngp and they still havent gave us a price and made comments like price dont matter ,, i hate to say this to sony
in todays recession , it sure as heck does
I love how everyone but one person is over 20, and yet in the latest claim by Sony is that all "self respecting 20-something year olds" are too old for the 3DS.
I'm 22 btw and I love my 3DS.trugs26
Sony's always said that about Nintendo. :|

Sony always made ridiculous statements about Nintendo and Microsoft. They still think they are the kings of gaming.
Interesting... a lot of people that have responded are closer to my age than I would have thought! I'm 32....
It may have to do with the time (responses were around the 7 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. PST area) and the fact that younger users have concerns like school. If the question was asked during the daytime, responses may be different.Interesting... a lot of people that have responded are closer to my age than I would have thought! I'm 32....

28. Most people who buy systems at launch though are usually older, because they know when a sytem comes out and have money. Kids usually get there systems on birthdays or Christmas. Overall though I imagine the 3DS will probably have a slightly older demographic than the DS.
Yeah.. Nintendo's Health and Safety warnings should see to that :D28. Most people who buy systems at launch though are usually older, because they know when a sytem comes out and have money. They're tryina play the "If you don't own our product, you're an unpopular child" card but they're not Apple so that would never work. P.S. i'm 16. Suprised that there aren't many other teenagers who own a 3DS yet if you go into the PSP board... Well thats just Sony contradicting themselves because obviously only an immature teenager would fall for that ploy.26TankZorz

A lot of people picked red. I think there is only one person in my friends list without a red shirt. It's my favorite color so I'm not changing it! :P17. I'm actually surprised at some of the ages here. It's good to see that there is a nice range of people using the 3DS.
I'm 22. I think there are a lot of older gamers right now due to the steep price tag. Hopefully this will encourage a wider a variety of games over the course of this handheld's lifetime. I'm not going to complain about titles appropriate for younger gamers because I'm looking forward to many of those myself, but it is nice to have great mature games like SSFIV and Resident Evil.
