Am I pathetic that I am having trouble in A Link to the Past? (I BEAT IT!)

beat it! finally... good game, glad i finally beat it. i wanna thanks helium_flash for inspiring me to play again, oh, and oath, because he did it before helium_flash did in a previous thread, i just never got around to it... and danger ranger for telling me to tear ganons *** up, because thats exactly what i did! oh, and my neighbor, who foolishly sold me his snes with the game and FF3 and other games for 20 bucks, couldnt have done this without you guys! thanks!garrett_duffman

Congrats, you just beat one of the 3 absolute best Zelda games (other two being OoT and WW), also for snagging a Snes for $20!!!

Nice games, you should really give FF3 a try, believe it or not, Im not a HUGE FF fan but I found 1,3 (VI) and 4 to be VERY enjoyable, outstanding stories and perfect difficulty.

I'm playing through this now, and I have to agree that it's pretty challenging. It's way tougher than the 3D games in the series. I'm currently at the 4th level.Rocky32189

I'm fighting Ganon, but I don't know how to beat him in his pig form when he throws his sceptor. I suspect I need the light arrows...

Hmmm, what sword do you have? 2nd, 3rd or 4th? To get the forth, throw you sword into the fairys fountain in the dark palace.

I'm glad I decided to play this on Wii (I also have it on SNES) because I can save within dungeons using the Wii's quick save function. Is the GBA version any different than the SNES version?Rocky32189

EDIT: i looked it up and you DO keep the shovel in the GBA version, and the ice palace is a little different than the SNES version (just a few rooms), and there are some other little things that changed

Thanks everyone for all your help (especially to Garret_Duffman, Rocky, and -Oath-). This was the most challenging Zelda game I've played. I enjoyed it!

I used 45 Lives to beat this game :P. More than probably every other Zelda game I've played.

This is probably the hardest Zelda game I've played. I beat Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, The Minish Cap, and Ocarina of Time (well, I didn't beat that one), and died only a handful of times throughout them. I die all the time in A Link to the Past.

I don't think I've played any Zelda game where one attack will take away three heart pieces. Common enemies will take away two heart pieces, and I am constantly trying to fill up my bottles with fairies and potions.

Also, A Link to the Past gives less help than every other Zelda game I've played. They don't exactly tell you where to go next. Kinda makes me wish I had a Navi with me :P

Anyway, what do you think?

if you found a link to the past hard then you should try the nes (or VC) version of zelda 2: the adventure of link. now that's a hard one. also try majora's mask. that will have you perplexed on what to do next a hand full of times, but it's worth playing.
