I'd love the chance to download games like Metroid II and Kirby's Dream Land on VC (even if they'd look pretty crappy on an HDTV). Anyone think there's a chance of this ever happening? Has Nintendo ever commented on it?

If that was going to happen, it would have happened already, so no. I don't see it happening. SepewrathReally? It seems like the VC has expanded gradually, with Commodore 64 and Arcade titles only starting to appear as recently as last year. I don't see why new systems can't continue to be added (especially as the well starts to dry up for high-profile games from the existing systems).
I doubt it will ever happen. We have only been getting about 2 games a month. Nintendo is slowly killing the service off.Rocky32189
This.
Highly doubtful old Game Boy stuff would appear on VC since Nintendo is releasing next to nothing for VC these days anyway. There are still tons of classic games they should put on the service, I dont know why they are dragging their feet so much.
If Nintendo is willing to put systems like Turbo Grafx, Sega Master System, and Neo Geo, systems that most people my age and belowhaven't of, then why shouldn't they put Game Boy and Game Boy Color in there? I've been wondering if and when Nintendo will do that also.
VC is slowing dieing nintendo released nearly every game they have made and most 3rd party developers are seeing that they make more money off wiiware or making retail games and its all about money, even on the dsi i say their wont be a VC nintendo has learned better in terms of making money thats why they went straight to dsiware over a VC so i say theres no cahnce in hell of gb games on any VCelbert_b_23
They haven't released Mario Party 1, 2, or 3. They haven't released Mario Tennis. Donkey Kong 64 is there yet. Diddy Kong racing hasn't made it yet. There are plenty of Yoshi games as far I know hasn't arrived yet. There are probably a few Kirby games left there. Both Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 havne't made it in yet.

Because they're too busy trying to go the way of Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 downloading via Wii Ware. I too am tired of seeing Wii Ware game after Wii Ware game gettin released and only seeing one Virtual Console game a week getting released, and half the time it's a thrid party system game getting in the Virtual Console now. Where are the Nintendo 64 games at? If Sony is willing to a Playstation 1 in almost every week then how come Nintendo only releases a Nintendo 64 game once every couple months?

mario tennis came out in eu 2 weeks ago and most likely be in N/A this week or next, we have nearly every yoshi game out there besides Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, the only kirby game the wii doesn't have is pinball thats not including the gb ones, and there will never be pokemon stadium because of the connectivity with gb that the original games had as for mario party i don't think anyone will miss them[QUOTE="Sepewrath"]If that was going to happen, it would have happened already, so no. Those are 3rd party devices, subject to license and contract issues not only with the console manufacturer, but the also the publishers for every game. The Game Boy and a bulk of its software is Nintendo's product, it wouldn't take them 4yrs to figure out if they wanted to do it and nothing to hinder them from doing it. The fact that they still haven't done it, is a good indication of a lack of interest.
And I think people are being a bit dramatic about how the VC is dying, I doubt its easy to market 15yr old games that don't have Mario or Zelda in the title. I remember when they first announced VC, it sounded like they were just going to put all the games out there and let you just buy at your leisure(though I remember Miyamoto wanted it to be free, that would have been great) But I'm sure they figured, whether free or for purchase, a system like that would lead to 98% of games being buried. Over time they probably noticed that even in bunches of 4 or 5, games were being buried, especially if releasing alongside the likes of Ocarina of Time, Mario 64 etc. I think they decreased the rate because of buying patterns to give games a chance at selling. I think if they could find a better way to market them, they would increase the rate again.

I tried Mario Tennis out once and liked it so I look forward to being able to play it on the Wii. I kind of miss the old Mario Parties.
No one knows but Nintendo (I'm not even sure they know what they are doing on occasions). There is no reason they couldn't they've already released 2 peripherals that have allowed gameboy/GBA games to play on there consoles so it's not like there isn't a precedence and obviously the Wii could emulate GB-GBA quite easily. They've never announced anything though so it's possible they may never allow it, but there is always a chance.I'd love the chance to download games like Metroid II and Kirby's Dream Land on VC (even if they'd look pretty crappy on an HDTV).
